Why are the bottoms of the caps ground off? This is a low mileage engine that was rebuilt/freshened by a machine shop in London. The engine works fine other then oil leaks. I have a 1971 nova and think it would be more fun to drive if I took the original stock 350 out and matched the M22 with a built 350 but I would like to keep it old school. My question is can I built one cheaper than getting a create block with some HP added.

YA HOO first post in the tech talk section!!! Ok I'm over that now.. What kind of a job is it to change the rear main seal on a ford 302 (1968 block)? I'm going to pull it out in a week or so just to reseal everything so I don't need to carry a LARGE bag of kitty litter with me. Thanks TMJ
