Size of Ford 302s

What I am looking at doing is replacing the 302 and C4 tranny in my 34.The engine year is 1968. I would like to up grade to fuel injection with about the same size as the 68 so I would not have to change any of the body. Welding in mounts would be no problem.Any one have any ideas of were I can get some measurements

Motor shouldn't be to much trouble , but the ford AOD  transmission is much larger , had a 64 falcon with the aod and took it out , as it kept

hitting in the transmission tunnel , mint car so there was no way I was modifying the tunnel !!

5 ltr will bolt right in , use's different flywheel  50 oz balance , where yours is 28 oz balance

Homer I have a question.. Is the engine and trany in your 34 running and working good.. Is your main concern just having fuel-injection .. If your engine and trans is working good and does what you want it do but you would like fuel injection.. Have you considered installing a fuel injection system on your existing engine.. They have some pretty nice fuel injection stuff that would bolt up to your 302 I believe.. If that is something you might consider let me know ..

Yes Chuk I do have a problem with the starting motor I think? I have had it rebuilt and it still turns over very slowly and than goes faster after a few turns.I have changed the headers because he said that they where to close but i am only having this problem in the last few years. Some time it needs a boost to get it started. Put in new battery with more power still a problem. He thinks maybe the cam I have in it but it has been on the dino and the timing set at 10 degrees advanced. And yes after I built the 37 with a 96 LT1 I love the injection you just get in and turn it on and away it goes.

If you suspect thee engine timing/ or compression try adding a switch in line to the dist. With the switch off crank the motor over then turn on switch and see if it starts bettrr. We do yhis on our drag cars.
