Ring Gear Spacer?

Anyone here ever try the ring gear spacers? I have a series 2 carrier (gm 7.5" 10 bolt). I'm switching to 3.73's for the transmission swap (350 to 700r4)

I know I can buy a 'thick' gear set that's available to work in my series 2 carrier.

But I already have a set of 3.73's kicking around and for $35 I can get a spacer ring. $35 vs $300 is a pretty big difference.

It's open diff and I'm not out driving the piss out of it... Are these spacers ok to use?

I machined a spacer for the 12 bolt in our drag car and used it for years. Still have it on the shelf.

No Brainer there Nick

You have the spacerĀ

You have the gearsĀ

Use them !!!!!

You will eventually change the rear

End for a good ford rear end anyway

I pulled that gear set out that I was staching in my loft and it's damaged. There's two chipped teeth on the pinion gear.

Time for Plan B - Who's gotta ford 9" for sale? (just kidding Joe. lol)
