First the background: I am putting an inline 6 in my 1998 F150 frame with an AOD transmission. I moved the transmission crossmember to be in line with the AOD trans.
The engine mounts have me stumped. I have the mounts from the delivery van the engine came out of. They are not even close. Does anyone know what I need to do to mount this engine correctly?
I'm putting different engines in my HenryJ and started fabing my own mounts then I saw this engine crossmember in Speedway so bought it while in Fla this winter. It will allow me quick engine placement on the frame if I decide to put a V8 in the car. Someone with a bender could duplicate it.
As promised, pictures of the problem. I don't think a crossmember will help. The one in my frame seems to be part of the suspension.
My frame is crusty, but not in bad shape. These pictures are of the driver's side mount and crossmember relationship. The engine is in the correct position but needs to come up off the frame an inch or so.

From your pictures I would bolt a 1/4" plate onto the frame and another onto the engine mount and then angle another piece to join them, and then box in where necessary. Of course cardboard is your best friend here. good day
I agree with Henry: You will need to get the engine where you want it try to get is reasonably solid and straight.. Then I would use some cardboard and duck tape to make them. much easier to throw away the cardboard than the steel. so if you fab them with cardboard.. then if you don't have the stuff to make them you should contact lightspeed Mike on here he can make them for you..then you will just have to weld them to your frame.. I would probably box the frame where I am going to install those mounts for strength..Might help to watch this for some help in getting there..

Would 1/4" wall 2X2 tubing do the trick? I could machine the ends to the correct angle and have my son weld it between 2 1/4" plates bolted to frame and engine mount. I may not need to angle it very much or at all if I gusset the plates to the ends of the tubing.
