Some of you may have heard me mention this elsewhere. My dream project is as follows.

Early '30's - '40's Dirt car made street legal.

We have :

 - a water-cooled flat four Kohler that previously powered the generator for a '60's Shepherd cabin cruiser. It still has and operates the generator.

 - what I think ( haven't confirmed) is an early LaSalle tranny and clutch.

 - a pair of cast headlight mounts with headlights from a '60's Case

 - a skinny bucket that was originally a passenger jump seat from a '71 Econoline cargo van

 - a pair of split lens goggles that belonged to my Grand-dad.

 - torches, welder, wrenches, desire and a picture in my head of rolling down old #8 hwy at dawn.

What we need:

 - frame, T, A,  homebuilt, later dirt sprint chassis minus the cage? - unless anyone has a better plan.

 - front and rear suspension, dropped tube front, buggy rear, semi- elliptic, friction shocks, etc.

 - I'm aiming for something similar to the pic.

 - I'm thinking a '60's Massy 35 for grill ( sectioned), hood and dash. The cowl will have to be hammered out unless I can re-purpose some early fenders paired up.

 - suggestions and ideas. You folks have tons of experience and tricks up your sleeves, share whatever you feel is appropriate. I'm all ears.

Thanks, Randy

one of my friends who lives at the yellow house on Fourth ave, between Jordan and the new hospital( the one with all the old cars out back), had a rolling model A chassis, you should stop and ask if he still has it....looks like a cool idea for neat ride............
