It's been a long time, and I'm maybe planning on posting a couple of pics of a couple projects I've been working on lately. Things have been going well, moved to New Brunswick in 2019, but I've started a 48-52 Ford F1 hot rod project. I'm in need of an ownership and from what I know the man that used to sell them has passed away.
If anyone sees one for sale or has one laying around they'd like to sell, I'd appreciate a post here if you think of it, I'd be happy to send an e transfer quick for anyone who would be able to mail me out one.
Welcome back Ben. You are wrong about Tex,,, unless he has passed since Sunday. I was vending 3 spots down from him last Sunday in Mt. Brydges. Guess your timing is a little off Huh. The next swap meet that he will probably be at is in 3 weeks (Rockton). I will also be there too. If that helps. TMJ
TMG, maybe it's a different guy I was thinking off. Cat in the Hat (Glenn Botting) the guy he used I guess he had passed away.
I'm not gonna be down myself in rockton, but if you happen to think of it, if you mind asking him if he has an ownership for a 48-52 Ford F1 I would greatly appreciate it. I will PM you my contact information, if you'd be willing to pass it along to Tex if he has one, that'd be awesome!
Mike, I don't think the cab has the tag still on it. Pretty sure it would have been on the firewall, and I already covered it over in steel, if a tag was there I imagine I would have saved it.
It is getting harder and harder to find ownerships for these older vehicles. I would ask around to find the friendliest Service Ontario and go in and explain your situation. They will probably want you to have a sworn affidavits from a notary detailing as much as you can regarding the when, where and whys of the vehicle. I just brought a Model A back from Alberta with suspicious paperwork and this is what I had to do. Also, because it is a truck, you will have to get a certified weigh ticket from any outfit that weighs grain, gravel or whatever. If all goes well, they will issue you a replacement VIN. Good luck on your quest.
I actually got the cab from out here in New Brunswick, so the process may be different. Apparently another guy out here has done it before but it involved getting engineered certificates for all the modifications done to the hot rod, in my case this will be quite extensive. Was trying to find an ownership ontario way, because then you don't need to go through all these extra hoops.
I'm still a long ways out from finishing, haven't touched the truck in 2 years now, and likely won't get back on it till next spring. Times are getting tough and hotrod isn't the 1st priority haha.
