Update to earlier post re-Forum.. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A GREAT NEW YEAR TO ALL

I have been thinking on this for a bit now and want to throw this out.. I have not been on here very often this last year. My life has had some major changes the these last few years and I am just not as active in Hot rodding as I was.. i am going to sell my Coupe soon, and start winding down and getting ready to sell my place and downsize.. I am at an age that just slows a fella down, and I don't have the desire to be crawling around looking at rust any more. I am touching 80 and it's time to sell off my tools and a barn and shop full of rusty junk from several years of lugging chit home.. i need to get this place cleaned up and spruced up to sell and get a smaller place.. Wife has been in long term care for 5 years now and just me and my Schnauzer left here on 5 acres and all I do is try to keep the place up.. Time to make the next step in life and do a bit more fishing.. If anyone would like to take over the board and give it some new life I would be glad to turn it over or,  I will continue to monitor it and keep up with keeping it clean and free of scammers.. But I would also be glad to transition it to anyone here that would like to take a more active role and breath some new life into the forum going forward into a non China plague era.. So if you have an interest or desire to take over please send me a PM and we can talk.. Thank you Chuck

DEC/07/21Updated today.  Just thought I should update this post for everyone..  Thank you..

Just to update you on my position.. I am not going to let this site dissapear  by any means.. Just my personal life has had several major life changing episodes in the last 5 years that has changed much of my life, time, finances, health etc.. I just have a chit load of other things that came into my everyday life and time.. that has changed so much about how and what I do.. I have not driven or even started my ride in two years.. You know I had that damn flesh eating infection after cutting my leg on one ot the pads on my hoist, turned into a night mare for well over a year, then My wife was suffering with dementia, I was trying to keep it together with my leg and take care of her and still try to work in the shop to finish up a couple projects that needed to get finished.. I was having a lot of trouble to keep up the shop and maintain my own stuff lawnmowers, (I have 5 acres of grass to cut) my poor old mower is 20 years old and it seems like i work ON IT as much I use it.. this last year we had so much rain I was cutting almost every 6 or seven days and it takes a day  to cut..

I have just not been able to keep up trying to keep involved as much as previously.. I was getting a bit concerned that it seemed like,  if I was not trying to keep some hot button conversations going, about anything the board was slowing.. So my thoughts were to possibly pass control of the board to somebody with more passion to raise some cain, maybe they could get the fire burning again.. I am not going to shut it down and I am not in any hurry to find the right person to either help with moderating and or promoting the board..

And a couple other things on my mind, I have lost 17 close friends this last year, family including my kid brother, 3 uncles, 4 aunts, some cousins and several good car Buddies and friends. And just on the road I have lived on here for over 40 years, I have lost 5 neighbours, One close/ to close to a really horrible accident in his shop almost directly accross the road from me.. All this has kicked my ass and set me back a bit with just not feeling so great, or enthuseastic about chit.. We won't even go there with all this Pandemic chit that seems like it will never friggen-end..Despite all of this .. I am getting feeling better a little every day this last couple weeks. I am back on my bike for 20min every morning, walking a mile everyday with my Dog

I just got a New Dog, lost my mini Scnauzer Riley 2 years ago on my Birthday.. If you have and love your dog you will understand that emotional loss without my explaing and how it hits you.. Life Was tough after my wife went into lont term care but at Least I had Riley untill he passed.. I just got a new to me Mini Scnauzer, he is a rescue dog He was supposed to be put down on Aug the 7th,  the day I picked him up from the Vet in Georgetown/ville ?? he was supposed to be put down and I got notice about him and went and got him right away.. His owners tortured him, so he has major fear problems of people and "was a biter" .. I have had him now for 4 months today, he bit me once and now he has space to run, play and he does not bite anymore he still has night fears and on some nights when it gets dark he will hide under a bed or , where ever he can find a place to feel safe.. but he is great and I love the little monkey, "Hudson" he has breathed new life and energy into me as,  he needs walking, playing, fresh air, Huggin, lovin,  he takes a hour or two everyday to care for work with and in ways he is a pain in the Tranny but, he keeps me busy, and he is just making me feel a lot better about everything.. great company,

So here is hoping for everybody as this year comes to end, I hope this spring all this damn doom and gloom in the world and all the crap and stupidity spewing from our Governmets lockdowns, restrictions on any and all events leave with the winter.. I am sick of hearing about Carbon taxes, Climate change, fossil fuels for our "hot-rods"..   and COVID..and Fking Trooodohh.... Merry Christmas to all and to all A Happy New Year!! we need to get our lives, hobbys, eating out, some swaps, Cruises, and get back to life.. Couple more months and we will soon be looking a new and busy Spring .. I guess I have rambled on enough.. I just want to assure everyone I am not going anywhere, and I am not burning the board. I am just hoping more of the members, brothers rodders of all makes and models keep involved and posting and sharing information, good times and bad.. I can't do it alone I need the members/brothers to keep in the loop. for some of us our best days in the shop are past and we are now spectators, advisors and Critics..lol

Hey Chuk, I know where you're coming from, as We're both in the same boat. Sold my 61 this spring, and don't really have the ambition to take on another one.

If there is anyway I can help you, just contact me.

Later
John

Thanks John:

Things have changed a lot for me in the last few years. I really need to get my chit together and get things done to get my place for sale next year or maybe the following year.. It's a big property at 5 acres to get cleaned up and a huge bank barn, and you know my shop is 100' by 40' so just getting rid of JUNK that has no value to anyone but me. Living in the place for 50 years with to many places to store/hide junk l have lugged home over the years is now not fun to clean up and get rid of.. been working at it a lot this year as well renovations in the house.. Thank you for helping me with Mudding.. Hope I never have to mud or do renovations ever, ever again lol.. If I had known I wasn't to live forever and be healthy, handsome and rich l would have started this purge earlier in life.. I am really getting to old to count on hindsight..getting old sucks.  I have tried to avoid it but, it just keeps coming back in my bones and joint's.. Been a hellava ride though and the good Lord has been good to me..

So looks like nobody is interested.. I will continue to look after the board as usual.. but if somebody does want to take over please let me know.. And be careful out there.. Had a really tradgic accident monday afternoon just accross the road here at my neighbours place.. He was a john deer tractor collector and lived just on the corner, almost across the road. He was here as long as I can remember . I have been here over 40 years. My neighbour Alex lived there just as long and had a couple tradgeties while I lived here, his wife was murdered in about 91, Son hanged himself, then on Monday this week it appears Alex was pouring some gas into a carb to start an old tractor when it backfired and the gas can caught fire and when he was trying to get the fire out he fell or tripped over the gas can and it spilled as he fell into the gas he and was very, very badly burned and died before they could get him to the hospital. One of the first responders said he never saw anyone burned so bad..Alex  was the same age as me. he was a good neighbour and had a couple old cars but, his heart was really into collecting John deer stuff and had a pretty fair collection of tractors and other parafanalia all john deer..It hit me pretty hard can't get it out of my mind just yet.. seems weird to me, everytime I look out the window I can see his place from my window.. So far this year I have lost 3 neighbours on my road, My kid brother, and now Alex on Monday night.. Be careful, work safe when in the shop alone, accidents can happen in a flash.. I am still in a bit of shock We sat in my shop last week and had a beer and today he is gone.. ...

Sorry to hear about your friend, Alex, Chuck. That's a hell of a way to go.
Since I've been fired for the year, I may come up and aggravate you in the near future, and may even bring Glenn
In the meantime, stay safe. Anything you want me to bring up when I come??

Hi Chuck. Sorry about your neighbor, friend Alex. i know what you mean by selling off your projects. I recently sold my 51 which i have owned since 1976. My age and 43 years of auto mechanics have done in my knees and back. Arthritis is trying to interfere and some days it succeeds. The good news is i sold my 51 to my grandson so he is carrying on the tradition. I wish you well going forward and am grateful for this site. I have learned a lot and continue to learn every day im here. I have told my grandson about this site so i am hoping he will join as he has a lot to learn and isn,t afraid to ask for help. Carry on and stay healthy and fight off the old age demons.

Thank you for the years of good entertainment Chuck, I don't tend to get time to be on here much like I once did. My
shop has kept me pretty occupied for the summers and this past five years as a contract worker for my municipality
has kept me pretty busy in the off season as well. I sure hope someone takes on the task of running this group, we
have all made a lot of great friends because of you and your efforts. There was a time I'd have nominated Nick Semeniuk
to run the group but with he and his brothers acquisition of their fathers plastics company ,they have both been madly occupied
too, all while battling the difficulties of Covid, suppliers, work staff shortages etc.. I'd love to see someone take it on as passionate as you..
And on a more somber note, my condolences go out to you and the family of Alex, that has to be the absolute worst way to
perish. Keep your head up and enjoy what you enjoy...
Chris.
