Tried cutting out two oversize panels just to see how things might measure up.  Looks like I have another compound curve to deal with.  Hmm ?  Otherwise, things look OK (to me).  Probably way off again.  Anyway, I'm still hard at it.  The last pic is for the center front piece.  I'll cut that last after I fit the rest.  IMG_6504.JPGIMG_6505.JPGIMG_6508.JPGIMG_6509.JPG

Bend that piece over your leg a bit before you go wheeling too much more.

I didn't plan on wheeling it any more. In fact, I have to flatten it just a bit. But I'll try bending the front point area over my leg. That might work. It doesn't need much of a bend but it definitely needs some. Thank you 123pugsy.

In order to flatten it, you need to wheel the outside edges.

I bent it over my leg before I read your next message - but it seems to fit ok now. Should I wheel the outside edges anyway ? Yes, I realize I tend to jump ahead at times and the reminder is very much appreciated Chris. I know you know your stuff too. This stuff isn't easy to learn during covid via the net and on my own.

Only you can answer that. If there is a bulge in the middle that's not supposed to be there, it needs correcting.
Did you do that practice piece I mentioned where you get a piece about 12" x 12", make a hump in the middle and then make it dead flat again?

If so, you will know how to fix it. If not, it's never too late.

I still have to buy some more sheet metal to practice on. I don't have enough scrap. So I moved on for now and put a breather line on my filler pipe (successfully I think). On Tuesday I am going to start taking off my intake manifold and replacing it with my Edelbrock tri-power. I think I'll leave the rad shell until I can get together with someone so I don't screw it up. I put too much time into it to wreck it now. Thank you 123Pugsy.
