Insurance Renewal time.

We just got the renewal for our car insurance today. Not for my Chevvy but our everyday driver 2009 Chev Avalanche. No accidents for over 30 years, no tickets for over 15 years, and no claims. Our rates went up $73.00 +/month for no reason . $120/month to $ 193/ month. Has any other member had this happen. OH, we also have our house ins with the same company.

I,m still waiting for the 15% decrease in premiums that Winnie the Shrew promised.   Auto Insurance . Just another rip off.

I would go shopping if I were you. We have a 2011 Z71 4 Door 4X4 and a all wheel drive SUV and for the two of them we pay just a little over what you were paying.

We shopped around when we bought our new SUV 2 years ago and found CAA to be the best price.

All our vehicles are with CAA, simply because they gave us the best coverage/price.
They wanted our home/farm as well but I won't do that. Most Insurance companies offer better rates if you " bundle" but once they have it all if you become dis-pleased and want to move it can be a hassle. As well, once they have everything they'll slowly creep your premiums up, safe in the knowledge that you're leaving can be problematic.
There was a time when I moved to a different Company every 3-4 years because rather than giving me a discount for staying with them - instead they all wanted to increase my premiums every year - with some lame excuse. Currently I'm satisfied with what we have but that dosen't mean I don't shop around.

I,m going to start shopping around. I have till middle of April to find a suitable company.  I hate it that its such a rip off. They do studies on insurance rates across Canada and Ontario has the highest premiums . Our wonderful Gov,t refuses to do anything about us getting ripped off . I have to think that reduced insurance rates means less tax money in their coffers.
