Here is a pic of my firewall. All the holes are welded, just some grinding and hammer/dolly work to do. What are the next steps? Sand the paint? What grit, 80? I have a random orbital sander but it will not reach the corners. Do I need to do them by hand? Same grit as with the sander? Then prime?, will be using epoxy primer.
Yes, exactly as you describe for the first covering of epoxy.
That's as much as I know at this point. I've only covered with epoxy up to now.
I will be scuffing the epoxy with 80 and skim coat with bondo over my million waves followed with epoxy again? or high build ?
Need to research that.
looking good One question. Will you be making a new hole for the steering column?
Thanks, update will come soon in the projects section, once I have something to say.
If you look closely on the drivers side you can see a spot near the bottom of the cab. The original column went through there along with the break peddle. That is random knowledge only. I will be drilling a new hole straight up from there. I found when playing with the column that the original one was to upright for me. By going farther up from the hole it will give me a nicer, more modern angle. I have a new Ididit tilt column for it.
