Wishing you all the best Chuck. I know you will get through this with no problem. I know what you are going through with the knee problems. 40 + years in the auto repair business gets to the knees and hips but we,re tough old birds and get through these things. Hang in there and best of luck.

Well I have not been here in a few days. Chuk, wow already out and home. Don't you love modern medicine. We wear out parts and they get replaced. I find that amazing. I have talked to a few people that have had this work done. All said the same thing. Do the physio and you will be walking and moving very soon. Oh and the pain pills, they are great, don't be shy about using them.

HI CHUCK : Been a while since we spoke . Many good wishes on a full & quick recovery . My wife had it done . Her's was a slow heal - But they say to strictly follow the healing program . All the Best -- DON / FLEET 51
As a retired postman, I can tell you that I know a lot of guys who had knee surgery. Stairs and years are hard on knees. I know some who couldn't walk from one end of a strip mall to the other without being carried back. But after the surgery they do nowadays, they can skip up and down the mall from end to end. You'll be fine. Knee surgery has come a long way.
9 days today and it hurts like hell still.. Pain pills do squat for me.. and they do not give much for pain pills.. I have some Tylenol one.. does nothing.. The staples right up the front of the knee hurt like hell. So I am still not in a place that I can say I am glad I had it done ..So far, the old knee did not hurt as much as this one does so far.. living alone makes everything damn hard just trying to take care of yourself, trying to exercise, carry food , make food averything is just so awkward and tiring.. hopefully I will be past the worst in another week.. but I am not getting the knee exercise done enough because it tears the damn stitches but they are supposed to come out tomorrow.. so I hope to get more work on knee bends.. Going to try to find somebody that would come here about three days a week to help me with the knee bending exercise.. That is the one I am worried about, but holy moly it has only been ten days.. I always here guys saying best thing I ever did,, I think they all tell lies.. because it hurts like hell just can't find a sweet spot I am glad it's winter and so far not bad for driving or blowing snow.. Hope this weather holds up for another couple weeks untill I can get back on the tractor. we see how long it takes before I can say I am glad it's done.. not there yet!!!!

Chuk,
I've had both hips done and you're right everybody says "I was up and walking in a couple of days". To that I say B.S. it was the better part of two weeks when the stitches came out and THEN it started to feel better. It's a different road for each of us with these things and I know that you'll be good as gold real soon
This is with the staples, and then had them out today it is 11 days since since the cut me.. But for a cut that big I didn't even bruise.. but it hurts like hell or I am a sissy..
Who ever says it doesnt hurt must be spining a tale from a good fishin hole.. but today is better than yesterday , it is really hard to find a sweet spot to sleep, and sitting on the potty trying to get a square peg through a rounf hole can be excrusiating

that don't look all that bad chuck or have you forgot about the pain when you got that bone infection? there is no way the knee pain is anywhere near as bad as that infection pain, you were lucky they didn't start cutting parts off with that one bud. a couple of things chuck, 1- as someone who has had a rough time with replacement parts i can tell you short of an infection setting in the next biggest deal is the physio, it has to be done and keep in mind were not spring chickens anymore. 2- i found the harder i yelled at them about pain they upped the meds, don't be shy, squeaky wheel gets the grease. ok, i lied lol, #3- since i bought the magic butter machine and started making my own pot butter 4 or 5 years ago i hardly take pain meds anymore and i have been on a monthly script for many years. you will be ok bud, it's a long way from your heart. rick
