I'm just keeping busy getting ready for Spring.  Since the rod is tucked away for winter, I thought I'd finish the anvil I'm making from two pieces of an old railway line.  Thought I'd give it to a friend but nobody needs one.  Except me.  Almost done.  I'm also taking the opportunity to fill my iPod with good tunes over winter for working in the garage next Spring.  I'll make a few stencils for the murals I'll put on the rod as well.  No time to waste and hopefully Spring will be here before we know it.

IMG_6151.JPG Sure did take a while to make but I think I'll get a lot of use out of it.  I was using any hard surface I could find before.  Now just to find 4 RR spikes and nail it to the stump I just cut.

Nice job Cuddles. I'll bet it took awhile to cut away the horn. I've still got one my Grandpa used when we had horses. I use it now and then.

Yes it took quite a while to cut and I burned out two grinders doing it but I enjoyed it. I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of it because I sure needed it the last two years with the rod.

I didn't know that the hole had a name but I know what they are for. But I don't have any good drill bits to make one so I'll just try to get by without one. It would be handy though.

Nice job of it.
To make a hole, weld a thick walled chunk of tube at the end of it.

Cool ! Great idea 123Pugsy. I almost thought of it. I was just thinking to bend a chunk of steel but hey, a thick chunk of tube would be much easier. So smart, you guys.
It was warm enough to work in the garage yesterday so I tried bending some sheet with my stump and hammer. That compound curve is too much for me (until I learn how). I got some real tight curve but not much control on where I want it. So much to learn.
