I thought I'd tackle the headliner yesterday.  The hardest part is the compound curve in the rear so I began there.  I hope to get some ABS or Luan or something flexible to glue the fabric to for the final step but roughing in a frame seemed the best beginning.  I had to frame around the power antennae and the fuel filler pipe.  Timing was nice since the fuel filler pipe is in the shop for welding so I only had to plan around it, not build around it.  I pieced the frame together with pre-cut lengths of 3/4" like I used on my buck.  I used pop rivets so the fame sits fairly flush with the body frames.  The pre-cut lengths were all bent identical to ensure the same curvature throughout where the roof meets the sides.  Then I discovered that two small bolts I had installed some time ago to hold chrome trim on the outside were in a perfect position to gather the 3/4" lengths inside, one on either side of the body.  These were right in the tightest part of the bend.  I marked the horizontals where each actually started the tight bend and then spaced three verticals within the marks.  It turned out that the actual compound curve sits above the horizontals and between the three verticals.  Now that I have established precisely where and how small the actual compound curve is, I can use ABS or Luan or something to cut and bend to fill it.  Cool.  For anyone else with an old model 'A', this should help you out and save you a lot of bucks at a shop.  It only took about a day to frame it in.  Not to find the right board.

Looks like it could be a complicated curve to accomplish.  Good luck with it. Keep us posted
