I made a couple of spark plug cable covers like I saw at the show but some of my cables fit a bit tight.  Can I buy cables of different lengths individually ?  Some of my wires now are a bit sloppy and some too tight (short).IMG_5696.JPG

Check your local auto parts store; or re arrange the ones you have for a better fit smile

Thank you Junior. I'll check at the shop. Two long cables aren't quite long enough now and two are too short. Thanks again.

Do a search for wires specific to your engine rather then universal wires, Taylor is an excellent company and you can choose which color you like. You are always better off getting pre moulded ends rather then make your own. Also determine if you want 90 degree or straight ends at the cap and straight or bent ends going on the plug. There are always many variables affecting how the wires sit especially if you use looms and shields. Always lay your wires so they are not tight against the block where they can short or touching the headers and melting.

Thank you Warren. I will check the Taylor site. Presently two wires are tight against the header cover so I wrapped the plastic wire wrap over them until I get wires of a proper length. I think the plastic might melt if the covers get hot enough but they might protect the wires enough until I get the right ones. Plus I am halfway through installing my 160 degree thermostat. The old one is 180 degree. Today I will cut a gasket and install the new thermostat. Yesterday I opened everything up and got the coolant out. Maybe the covers won't get hot with a new thermostat. I will order the new wires today. Some wires touch the rod that supports my rad shell running to the firewall. I can't see any way of changing that. I'll have to wrap the plastic stuff over them too I guess.
