my name is Chris and new to this site. I recently purchased a 1931 ford ratrod and live in the east end of Toronto. Am hoping to be able to get advice and direction moving forward with my 31 ford.
i am looking for a garage moving forward with any work I may need as well as I need the car safetied if anyone has any recommendation?
That's a pretty clean looking car. Just because it is channeled, doesn't necessarily mean it is a Rat Rod. What are your intentions with the car and what's currently on your 'to do list'?
Chris. That's a good looking Model A you have there. IMO that's a street rod not a rat rod (no tetanus shot required) but it's yours so you can call it whatever you want. Welcome and nice car! TMJ
Geez, Chris, I think you just stole my ride. Oh wait, mine is a different colour (and year). But I think I might be able to help you out (as will so many nice people here). First thing you need are fenders (just to pass the safety) and I have them if you need them. Do you ever leave Mississauga ? I am out Peterborough way so you might want to connect. Your ride looks more finished and in better shape than mine and I had mine in for a safety a month or two ago. It passed so you'll do fine. Actually there is another guy out near St. Mary's and he was willing to do my safety and he builds rides like ours. He has a shop (of course). His name is Blaine Ford. I'll try to find his number again for you. By the way, I had been advised numerous times to get a safety under the table but I ignored them. I wanted a legit safety and a safe ride. It ended up costing me an even $100 from the ministry. A fake safety would have cost me $300. Call me if you like - 705-295-4613 - Jim ... and I should add before anything else, if you need guidance for anything about your ride, this is the place. These people are all so helpful and friendly and nice. This will be my first summer in my ride and a lot of the reason I'm rolling is because of the people (especially one or two) on this site. You won't go wrong here.
if that is a rat rod I am going to have to change my opinion of what a rat rod isas others said nice ride certainly not a rat rod(pile of rusty pieces of mismatched crap)no where near what the origin of the term was.
