Had this a while, but really only started getting back into it last spring. I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Making some chairs. Wife is going to take care of the cushion area, once I get some bases for her.

I like 'em Dave, they remind me of early 60's sports car seats. Comfy and cool.

An artic day at the market is still better than the nicest day on the golf course

Dave,
I gotta ask.

Can you share some details on your jerry rigged starter system? biggrin

I think I need something like this to test start my engine.

Not sure if you're being serious, but I'll answer anyway lol.

(I used this setup before I wired everything to the key)

Gas:

Clear tubing to monitor flow, from gas can to pump inlet

Starter:

Heavy duty cable from battery (+) to main starter motor connection.

10 gauge wire from battery (+) to one side of heavy duty horn switch.

10 gauge wire from other side of horn switch to starter motor solenoid.

Heavy duty cable from Battery (-) to engine block

Dave,
Thank you

yes, I was serious. When it comes to automotive wiring, my brain is a big black hole.

Yeah, it's kind of intimidating at first, but it's actually pretty basic. Just don't over think it.

Essentially, pretty much everything is earthed to the chassis/engine block, then just requires a live feed from the battery to make it hot.

I will be running a thick earth cable from the block to the chassis, so both the engine and the chassis will have a good solid earth to the battery at all times.

When it comes to wire size, the more power needed, the thicker the wire needed. Don't cheap out on wire size.

I've not got into relays yet, that's a whole other can of worms lol.
