No more environmental police??

Been away a while and thought I'd come back to the forum to see joyous uproar about the end of Etests next April.....am I missing something? Doesn't that mean there will be no more inspections to see that we don't have missing cats on a hot rod, and non-sense regulations as such???

It means any inspectors that were checking drive clean stuff will be available for roadside.

So, it will only get worse. You can count on it.

For real? If the government doesn't need anyone testing cars, why would they hassle us? I guess for the same reasons they always hassled classic cars that never needed tests in the first place??

Just because you won't be doing E tests anymore, your engine must still retain the pollution gear it came with including cats regardless whether you drive a 1969 or a 2019. This has always been the case even though they only tested the past 20 years or so. Too many cars passing to bother testing anymore, but you must still run the gear. Feel sorry for all the guys that invested in test equipment that will be gathering dust and cobwebs, at least until the Liberals are re-elected. Your hot rod with a pollution era engine has always been and will always be a source of suspicion. Better to find a pre 67 engine unless your car is newer then 67.

Well put. I've never seen this type of fuzz in Oshawa or in Durham at shows, but I am somewhat new to the scene. Hopefully I never do. Maybe now that the etest is gone, the right kind of coordinated approach can put an end to these checks, as well.

Or of course you can upgrade your engine to something out of a new car/truck and run all the pollution gear while still making loads of fuel injected, computer controlled HP.
To each their own, but it is an option. LOL

This is my plan exactly. If you can't beat em, join em.

I agree. Plus, the coolest powerplants are pre-67 stuff, or high powered new stuff, anyways. If I get busted with my 010 block sbc 350, I'll go with an LS afterwards and be happy.
