Last portion on south side; all mine, neighbor would not go 50/50. You can see in the background what I Do Not Want to See; bad enough hearing them scream all f#@%^*g day. I swear, this part of town was a gully/ravine BEFORE York Street was ever thought of.(Read Landfill)  SAM_2266.JPGSAM_2267.JPGSAM_2268.JPG

i can't say i blame you for putting up the rest of the fence jr. i have often wondered what would be the outcome of putting up a fence as in your situation and the neighbor doesn't pick up the tab for his half of the build as i think that he is responsible for half the maintenance and/or repairs, maybe. i have no experience with this as its in a town but, at one time didn't the good side of new fence have to face your neighbor if one party was picking up the tab or make both sides equal? sorta thing. just asking as i don't know but curious because i can relate somewhat.
- brother joe started having a serious discussion this spring with his neighbor up in peterboro about replacing a fence and from all i can see it is a one-way discussion so far. if i want to have a grin i bring up the fence topic with him and sit down for a drink, watch, and listen. oh-oh-oh lol about 10 min later he will be cursing me out for bringing it up and getting him all spun up. LOL

When we moved in we had a survey done (required to get Land transfer Tax back) It shows all "chainlink" is owned buy my neighbors. No one maintains them and they           look like crapulance. The northern chainlink is on 'My side' by a foot. Funny,I found every other Iron bar/marker but not the ones on the northside of my lot? This is the           same guy who had a chimney fire a few years ago and had the Firemen let it 'burn out' by itself. Any wind from the North/NE that night my roof would have been toast!

Did he come and tell/warm me?? NO F&^%KING way!!!

humph, didn't know that about needing a survey to get the transfer tax back, interesting. i am looking for a pc of vacant land now to build on and eventually sell this place. i did just learn that h.s.t. is applicable on the total paid for vacant land though when i went after a 33 acre pc near me a couple of weeks ago and there is some sort of a re/bate tied to the amount you spend to build up to a 400,000 cap. it would of amounted to about 1/2 of what was paid on the tax but i walked when they suddenly had another higher offer from somebody in toronto. i was already pissed at myself making a full pop offer, plus h.s.t., then that other offer came up so i walked. there is a little more lol to this but it is long winded, lmao. when i bought this place 18-19yrs ago i took out a title insurance for 400.00 approx instead of a survey on 30 acres at about 2500.00. that title ins was something new to me at that time back then.

so, how did the neighbor take it when you started building the new fence a foot closer onto his property? there is an ages old saying, "good fences-make good neighbors" and if you want to take a parting shot i would place the chain link and posts on his side for disposal.

The only 'link fence' is north and south lot lines, west was removed by the owner and myself. I made certain that my post were so tight on each 'side' of me that I had to pry the top and bottom horizontal bars of the link fence to slide my boards in place. I used  screws but the tension would have held them in place. smile Now I don't have to look at them; their respective owners do. One white-the other rusty. biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin
