I have a 1962 Cutlass which is built on a unibody chassis similar to a Corvair. I want to put a tow hitch on it so I can have a traditional vehicle to tow my Bantam altered. The package with trailer weighs under 3000 lbs. Has anyone had experience with such an install and can they lead me to a good fabricator who build such a beast?
there is a guy in picton named dave dugay who would be the right guy for that job. he lives beside the butcher shop by the liquor store. i can't find his number but if you ask the butcher i am pretty sure he would know which place. very talented fabricator and quite knowledgeable. tell him rick the meat guy sent you and you will be fine.

Thanks Rick
I know Dave quite well and he has done a lot of welding for me. I know his talent for building trailers. I only asked the question because of the unibody construction. I will go see him tomorrow. By the way, Lawrence Roblin disappointed me today for the first time ever.

that would be him, good guy. i would think he would of put more than a couple of hitch's on the old chryco k-cars in the days. the cutlass will be built a way stronger and twice the steel than they were, lol. another thing with dave is that if he can't do it and it be safe for what it is intended to do, he wouldn't do it.
sorry to hear about your let down with lawrence by the way, he is at the point of outliving his parts supply, the old lad. there will be a hole.

Dave is getting too old to crawl under the cars so he put me in touch with his nephew who he used to work with and now all they basically do is hitches. They are hot rodders too. Dog Spit will be going in in 3 weeks for it's hitch and then the Cutlass.
