hi guys, Dorset anyone know if seat belts were standard equipment in a 1956 Ford F-100.

i don't have any yet but am real excited to get out for some laps around the block and maybe some short shake down miles locally.

They were not. However Midfifty sells kits to add them if you like. They put a reinforcing plate above your shoulder between the back window and the door frame. Oh and your truck is so cool.

Seat belts were not available in your truck .They were not in my 64 f100 either . Had a dog run out in front of me on a itermediate hwy , 80 kph slammed on the brakes and my wife banged both knee's off the all metal dash and hurt both wrists stopping the reat of herself flying forward and my young boy ended up on the floor .

Everything I have or build has seatbelts now

33 guy, no question about it, I will have belts in it, and your story also makes me realize waiting another month won't kill me but no belts may!

Wuga, as always your past experiance is always appreciated.

Thank you all for the comment, it's been a long 5 years getting to this point, and all is going well.

I'm hoping to get to our local cruse night shortly as we are in a new home close to Coldwater On. They have a unique cruse in on Thursdays that I have been to on my custom motorcycle a few times, and am looking forward to attending regularly this summer as it is only 6km. Away, good for this summers shake down.

I put the 3 point belts from Juliano's in my 48 and they give me a nice sense of security when I'm driving and it keeps the cops (who don't realize that not all cars/trucks had belts) from pulling me over.

Have a set on the way from Milton should have them by early next week, still need to fab up some parts but that will be easy enough.

Thanks for all the great advice and comments.
