Hi Frank: I suppose they told you that you need a new rad bla..bla//bla.. I had that happen to mine MDX and I found some new fitting's that just threaded right in..I have been in the shop working all day and I am whipped .. I will try and find a number and where you might buy the fittings to take to your regular trusted repair guy to do that job without replacing the rad or oil cooler.. I still have to get supper for Diane and feed my doggie and have a shower so I doubt I will have time to-night .. FMSI is the company I believe that has the fittings in case you want to try to check them I think they may have a web site.. good luck.. In-fact if you even google the problem you might come up with more information as it is a more common problem than you would think..
Check this link for some information.. Very big issue with several honda's

Check this site for the rad/trans cooler nipples.. If your rad has pink foamy coolant .. you will have to flush the whole cooling system as your heater core and cooling system as you will have transmission fluid in all the cooling system If you were closer Frank I would be glad to help you..But you are to far out of my area..
Now looks like all I need is to bypass the rad and install a trans cooler. Which was my first thought when the service tech mentioned bad/corroded connection.
Frank if you look at the video chuck posted its not the rad that failed but the fitting going into it . From what I can tell even if you bypass the rad you need the fitting to keep the plastic tank from leaking out the coolant. The tread you posted looks like they are just piggy backing a second cooler to the rad cooler, not bypassing it completely.
