I hunt area 61a. been in the a great camp for 18 years, haven't missed a year. Bagged a small doe this year. I could post pictures of what a 30-06 does to an animal but it's not really kid friendly. I will tell you the animal didn't move or suffer.
we finished with 2 nice size eating bucks, 1 6pt and a 7pt, here at the house, 68 B. we is 2 brothers a brother in law and myself. we have been at it here for 16-17yrs now and shot gun only. over the yrs we have made it pretty easy hunting around here doing little projects. this yrs project was another stand welded up from pallet racking and taken out and placed. the in-law wanted the bigger deck for a tent, aka the pussy.
stand #4 now about 14ft up. no more rickety old 1/2 rotted tree stands for us getting much greyer older guys. with me being the oldest of the tribe i am pretty sure my next stand will be eventually off the back deck.
or this if your into them.
obviously we don't hunt to hard like we did yrs ago in a camp up north south of bancroft as it has turned into a yearly gathering of the clan for a week of great food, bro joe, booze and the odd left hander. but, i do miss listening to the dogs and hunting with a rifle. seen a couple of coyotes this yr which is a first during the hunt. i know they are around from the noise at night but not seen. humph

that's a good gun mike, it definitely knocks them down. i used a 270 for open shooting or a 30-30 for in the bush.

The no Tags might be from not filling out and sending in the report/questionaire?
92D had an additional 1200 tags this years because of the high occurance of Car/Deer collisions.
