Guess that's why insurance rates are so high. Cars today are built to self destruct at the slightest provocation in the name of safety.

Looking at those pictures it's hard to believe that car sustained that much damage and there does not appear to be a scratch on that old Packard .. It goes against all the crash test video tests I have ever watched..That thing is a write-off...confuse

they don't show the trailer it was on . I would think that did not fair as well.

That is staged , old cars do not fair near as well .

That Packard would have as much damage or more .

Old cars were not designed with any safety in mind ,

no crumple zones , safety glass etc

A friend of mine was T boned in her 55 4 door Chevy and the 

Center post was driven to the middle of the car. She was lucky to have survived the accident!!!

She was hit by a Toyota that in the end didn't look that bad

I believe a ladder frame would have faired better than the 59's X frame.

I think th Packard was on the trailer at time of impact.
Damage to the Nissan was from hitting the trailer and not the car.

It would have been nice to see the trailer. They didn't go in to much detail about it. Besides, the media wouldn't lie to us would they?
