So is anyone knowledgeable on these?
Is there something else that are a must have as far as abilities go or does this pretty much cover it?
I know you only get what you pay for.
Is rapid erase a option?

Make sure it has auto looping. When the memory card is full it will start recording over the oldest recording.

They are out of stock already.
You can buy a similar one direct from China for half that price in Canadian funds!
I have one in my truck, it sucks because the frames / seconds is too low.

the one I have is cheap, dirt simple, no fancy anything, records and records over itself when full, best one I ever bought.  I can send you a link from ebay.  buy a good charger for it as the one they supply is crap

Thanks for the link Rob. Just guessing but I would think the view angle would be kind of important too,,,,,wouldn't it?
What about recording when its parked does that happen or is it advised?

if its powered all the time it records all the time, my truck has a lighter socket port meant for devices which switches off when I shut my truck off, so it powers off. my cam is selectable to record all the time or motion sensitive.  these will drain your car battery if left on for a week, ive done it not realizing it

The other thing to do is look into the one you plan to purchase.

Some of the Chinese Junk will die in a hot car. They have to be able to survive the high temps a car can get in the dead of summer.

And as Rob has mentioned, if your 12V is constant on. You will kill your battery in a weeks time.
