Thought I would share one more truck with you guys and gals. This one is very special to me. It was the first of the models that you have seen. I think I started showing the last one first and so now the first one last, go figure. This one is a bit of a departure from what I normally do. I made it out of pine and painted it. I would normally avoid soft woods as I prefer hardwoods to work with. It was painted with modeling paint. All in the same scale so it is about 15" long. The canvas cover was a piece of fabric that my wife sewed up for me. It is supported with old wire clothes hanger. Inside is all detailed as well but hard to take pictures of. After painting I took some alum. foil and glued that on the mirrors to make them look a bit more real. It is very special to me as I made this for my oldest son. It was given to him as a present when he completed his basic training in the military. It now has a prominent spot in his living room on top of the TV stand. He knew I was making it but thought I was doing it as a challenge to myself and it would stay with me. If you look closely at the last picture looking into the back of the truck you will see a bit of the racking that sits on top of the box sides. In real life you can take the cover off and load the truck full of stuff and then the cover goes back on. You can also drive it without the cover. Colouring is off in the first picture as these were taken with a phone camera so not as good a quality.
