Sure hope I am not being a pain.  Is there any difference between Speedway parts and name brand parts.  I was looking at gas and brake pedals today.  The Lokar brand are twice the price as the Speedway stuff but look the same in the pictures.  I have noticed this with other stuff as well.  Don't mind spending money if there is more value there but there has to be something there.

Any new parts on Dog Spit were pretty well all Speedway. I'm sure many of them are made in China but they all seem to work so far. Cat in the Hat has also built many cars using Speedway parts and he jumps at every chance to promote them. Do you buy no name brands at your grocery store, it's the same thing, no big bucks spent on glossy ads.

I agree with Wuga.. Lokar may have a name brand.. But I would bet a lot of their stuff is made off our shores as well.. Way back when we were in diapers most of all this stuff was made in the US and speedway stuff as well.. We live in a much different world now and pretty much everything is made offshore.. Try to find something in any store that is not made offshore. As to being a pain.. This is what the forum is for, somebody among us has the answer to your question and the rest of us learn from your question and either working out a solution or somebody maybe has been there done that..There are NO stupid questions..biggrin biggrin biggrin I am planning on being down your way next week If all goes as planned I plan on leaving here next Saturday to spend a week in Merrickville visiting with my grand kids .. I am bringing your addy and phone number and will try to get over for a visit just so I can pick on your truck. biggrin

Plenty of car parts made in Mexico, that's not offshore! Lol
I actually saw a speedway wiring kit after I bought my American auto wire kit, as far as I could tell they were pretty much the exact same.

I have bought several items from Speedway with no problem with parts or service. I had a premature problem once with a spindle on a straight axle and they replaced the whole front corner (including spindle, hub, rotor and bearings) and express ship. All with no charge. Good company to deal with.

We stopped at Speedeway in 2008 on our way to Bonneville.  We all bought a lot of stuff and had it shipped home. We met "Speedy"Bill Smith in the parking lot as he was leaving for lunch. He stopped and talked to us for about 10 minutes while the three guys in the car sat and waited.  When he left we walked overt his museum and took the tour.  Absolutely INCREDABLE!!!! It's worth the drive to Lincoln Nb. just to see the museum. SO my take on Speedway is great company which was led by a great guy
