Re - A short who you are, where are you from and what your interest in cars are.

^^ I received a nice invitation to this local forum last night, so here I am.

- Larry from St. Thomas, ON.

- bought my first '67 Beaumont Custom, 6 cyl. 2 door hardtop in 1976

- fixed up the rust, making lower door skins on a piece of rail road track & Oxy/Acy brazed them on

- painted the car, in Dad's farm garage with cement floors wet down / drove the car for 6 years, as a daily driver

At the ripe old age of 16, Dad picked out a '66 Valiant 4 door (170 slant 6) for my twin and I / not exactly, the attention grabber.

Would fix that - Following year, I purchased a '65 Chevelle 2 door post car (6 cyl.), wearing original Danube blue paint.

- trip to Exeter Speed Shop, in early 1970's for Cragers, white letter tires & Air Shocks

Also, did my first vehicle flip in grade12 / a 1948 Fargo van with push button start - profits paid for a good chunk of year 1 College tuition.

- Chevelle & Canadian Beaumont's, soon became my interest & focus / when I moved to the city

After a 10 year search, I was fortunate enough to find and purchase my 1967 Sport Deluxe 396-350HP/M21/411's, 30 years ago.

- was accumulating SD parts, even before I found the hardtop, from Saskatoon, SK.

1967 Beaumont Sport Deluxe (396-M21) parked on grass, to off load a 2-Post Rotary lift, with my buddy's Kubota.

- doberman Kelly thinking, something moved here Dad / our back yard looks different today !!

[/QUOTE]

Another interest / a good Doberman, and family pet.

And my daily driver's are a 1998 Silverado 4x4, 3/4 ton pickup plus a 2000 Toyota 4Runner SR5 v6, 4x4 (129,000 Km survivor, purchased in January)

Looking forward to being an active member hers & enjoying the contribution of knowledge here...Cheers.

^^ Thks for the warm welcome guys.

admin - I always thought, if I wasn't owned by a dobe / probably have a schnauzer, always liked their awesome & regal looks.

- I could get use to a bed hod of a schnauzer / I have extra 90 lbs with 4 legs, in our master bed at night

1966-67 Classic roof line characterized by having the rear glass in a tunnel, since the roof was joined to the trunk through two small fins ...always stole my heart.

Referred to this good body styling as being "timeless", much like the '57 Chev. Bel Air / just 10 years later - guess their could be worse obsessions...biggrin...in life.

An interesting read, to share:

Welcome Larry

Beaumonts hold a special place in my heart as well. I have owned several with one being an 67 SD like yours. I paid 200.00 back in the day and drove the wheels off of it. The 396 wouldn't rev past 6000 rpm and when it did it always puked a rocker arm or valve spring. But they were easy to fix and back on the road in hours.

Thks admin - for posting photos, of your Riley boy...he sure has the life of Riley, there / Mr. Handsome !!

=====================================================================================

We have our son & little Trevor (YorkiePoo), stay a few nights/week - since his office is in London, while still living in Toronto on weekends.

- Trevor is a smart little guy, grew up around our former Doberman Amy & copied her mannerisms

- his nicknames are "T-Man" or "Mr. T" / he is gonna be 10 y/o, this year

Any noise outside, gets investigated.

Trevor's second home here.

At my brothers place / Kelly likes BBQ time...looking at me saying, "time to flip my burger Dad".

3.5 years ago, Kelly's puppy photo / they grow so fast.

My very first Beaumont and our DD (daily driver, for 6 years) / 6 cyl. car found a new buyer (15-20 years ago).

- even brought wife and newborn son, home in it from London hospital...in early 1980's

- nurse was scared to put baby in the car seat / our Doberman Tanya was in the back seat...LOL

Last family trip we had in this hardtop, was to attend the NCOA Convention (National Chevelle Owners Association)

- held at the GM Tech Center, in MI / around 1984 or 85

My next one may be a Yorkie as we will have to be selling and downsizing soon..Wife is ill and will need more care soon...Riley is 11 this Oct.. Still can run circles around me and I am not fast enough to catch him with a soccer ball he can push that soccer ball all over the field with his shoulder.. loves to play soccer .. I so wish he was only 2 again .. I don't think anybody in my family wants to anywhere near me when Riley goes.. I love that dog so much I am going to be totally devastated if anything happens to Riley ..He is basically with me in my back pocket every where I go  he follows me from room to room in the house ..He has a lazy boy chair right beside mine wife has a t.V. in the living room I have my TV and lazy boys in my office and computer room which is just at the one end of our Bedroom..Riley pretty much just crawls under my armpit at night .. Anyway I could talk about him all day so I better go .. I like you Doberman ..and Yorkies can be clipped almost to look like toy schnauzers..I am a real dog guy I do all his clips my self..before Riley I had 4 Shepards over the last 40 some years never like small dogs till I got Riley .. He just doesn't know he is a small dog he is to damn brave .. He had a coon cornered out here last week that I had to shoot.. The scare the hell out of me.. I have a neighbour that had two Dobermans and a couples coons sucked those dogs out in the creek and drowned both of those Dobermans.. that was just about 4 years ago.... I like dogs as much as old iron..biggrin biggrin

^^ Appreciate the warm welcome, from everyone.

Brian, thanks for sharing your 67 SD story / $200 purchase, your killing me buddy...share a photo of it, if available.
- your bio is quite similar to mine / slowed hobby down for 20 years (for sons competitive sports) and also had a Model T & a 1931-5 window coupe once

- plus love my square body Chev. trucks, have a few...smile
Frame-on restoration, on my 1978 Chev. 3/4Ton 4x4 / cab rebuilt in-house, frame blasted & put in urethane top coat, much dealer NOS sheet metal added.

- long box was a Wiltsie takeoff (in Alymer) / took 2 years to locate, and appeared to be a ghost story / finally found it in city's airport hanger

Chuck  - Yea, I didn't care (as much) for a small dog either, until our son brought puppy Trevor home / now we would take him, in a minute.
- like Riley just fearless, years ago he chased a fox in London subdivision / and he listened to me, when I called him off
My former Amy was my heart-dog, she was my shadow & humanized smart / once retired, she started reading my mind & read people.
- just so en-tune, with thy loving master

The day I got my original paint John Deere 318 (with 470 Onan hours) / former Amy lays down beside trailer to sun bathe & keep an eye on it.

- dobe always protecting stuff

Last night I Kijiji purchased a nice 30" Hydraulic Tiller, for the garden tractor.

- now need to find a rear PTO setup and probably get a new Ruegg 3 point hitch / unless someone has this stuff, kicking around
