Just caught up on your post here and there is a rad shop in Hamilton that will recore yours if you want. It is Barton Radiator on Cannon St
(905) 522-6126. Bill is the owner but his son is doing more of the work now. Bill has 6 or 7 classic cars so he knows what your trying to do. Hope this helps

After much great help and advice.  The route I am taking is to order from speedway and get what I need there.  I'm just getting all my thoughts together now for ordering. Thanks for checking in, appreciate the thoughtfulness.

If you haven't ordered yet, I would suggest you contact Superior Rad in Detroit. Their specialty is the big truck business, but they custom build for any application. I bought for the Model A with shroud and it is beautiful. Great price as well. Worth the drive over.

Thank you for checking in! I am impatiently waiting for next Thursday.  I ordered the parts from speedway and they are shipping them now.  Last time I checked (every 5 minutes lol) they were in Pennsylvania. So I have been checking Snoopy over and am looking through the garage for a little wire clip that I can put on the water temperture guage. i noticed that the wire was just wrapped around the little post so I want to make it more secure.  If I can't find one, my winter car is getting ready to go to the scrapers so I'm going to pop the hood and pillage.  That's a good question, what could I take off a PT cruiser that could be squirrelled away for Snoopyin  an " in case of scenario? I picked up the throttle spring part, but it's not just a spring...it's a whole assembly thing! when I get there I'll post some pictures to see if I put it on right.  Right now it's in the package still, and we are having a "your not going to be difficult" conversation.

Don't really know what you could use off the PT on your car , but there is quite a following

for them so I would think you could sell quite a bit off the cruiser or at least perhaps sell it as is

and maybe get a few more dollars than the wrecker may give you

I agree with Joe to maximise the money from PT... If it's still running.. your could get more than a scrap yard will give you.. post a couple pictures of it.  I can give you a pretty good guess on what to ask and stick it on kijiji..It will help to pay for some of snoopy parts.. That's about all you can salvage from snoops is the money..

I'm not sure if they carry rads, but next time you are in need of getting a local person to look at your ride, you could slip over the Brant performance. 92 Grey Street

Well!  Bit of a setback here in T bucket land. I took the new rad out of the box and was very excited till I placed it  It's the right height and everything but you can see by the pictures where the bolts go don't match up and now I'm wondering if I have to get a plate welded so the new rad can bolt in?  Can that be done?

I'm sure you will get lots of ideas from others. But if it was mine I would just get two pieces of metal or possibly aluminum to bolt to the rad brackets and bolt the other end to the frame holes. Just kind of bridging the distance.

TMJ is right .. I would take a couple pieces of cardboard to make the pattern. You can use a pair of scissors and make a template/pattern for each side set them over the frame ..I would use a little oil after I make the carboard patterns put a little oil on the frame to set the cardboard patterns on to mark the holes set your rad on the templates and mark the place to drill a couple holes in those mounting ears on the rad.. there must be a welding shop or look one up take your stuff there and have them make you a plate from your patterns so you bolt it to the frame and then attach your rad to the plates.. they can always be weld tacked later when your up and running ..are there any rods or braces at the top of the rad to hold it straight..like to see a more of a picture that would give a more macro view.. but really you just need to make a couple plates to attach it .. Typical hot rod stuff.. Good luck..

Great suggestions, helped me very much. With that new found confidence I picked up the phone and called my very friendly neighbourhood welding shop. I told him I had plan A and B and what each entailed. He suggested he could TIG weld the ears to make them longer for me which for him was quite simple and cheap for me. So, I have an appointment with him tomorrow at 6 am to get it done. Yahoo....then its figuring out how this all goes back together.

Update...

Another small set back...but one step closer...put the rad on and lol didn't take into account the transmission  lines..ugh. I guess this is my first oh crap moment lol

The fan is going to hit the lines. So I'm taking it back in at 6 am Monday morning and getting the ears moved up. I guess it's like Chuck says....typical hot rod stuff. Everything is ready to go, new thermostat installed, just need to get over this small hurdle then Snoopy is good to go!

 Hi Red-oak

That is something I don't think I have the skill for right now.  Hubby came to the same conclusion as you.  He said it was a shame to let it sit any longer and made an executive decision.  We just finished putting the old rad I got fixed back in.  He said while youre "dicking" around lol with this new one you could be out enjoying yourself! For the price of antifreeze and transmission fluid it's a small price....so let's get it done.....I didn't argue

Good decision: I was thinking that this morning when I read your predicament. and really if you drain the coolant/antifreeze you should not lose anything more than a cupful. same with the trans fluid.. if as soon as you pull the line away from the rad put a rag over the end of the line and wrap some tape around it.. You will loose very little With an open car like that it should only be an hrs job to swap rads..I hope you make it to the Piston pushers and have a great time .. I can't make it ,wish I could. I have not had my car out yet this year. Just have not had time to get at it. Working on the Motor-home first .. And we are having company from Ottawa later today wifes Sister and her husband..Damn husbands are great things to have eh!! biggrin

Thanks Chuck! Went to the Piston Pushers and talk about information overload...Didn't see a lot of Snoopy's but the ones I did see I made sure I spoke to them and asked questions. Hubby went with me and saw a few trucks he really liked. Great time there though and was very impressed with the wide range of cars.

Snoopy is tearing it up with the old rad still.  My nephew came down for a visit so I've been busy going for rides in Snoopy with him lol. He's 16 and thinks Aunt Janice is cool lol if he only knew I've been rolling into bed dead tired every night from keeping up with him. Just feeding the kid took up a lot of time. Lol He's gone now so back to normal routine....after a nap.

I did catch a view of snoopy in your Pics Davy. Thanks for posting the pictures. I just had thought what happened to Miss-T hadn't seen you on here for several days and I thought maybe you traded him for a Mercedes or something.Having two new rides within a couple months.  I guess that needs some days to drive them both..Looks like I am going to have to make the trip to Brantford to pick up the Ts but I am hurting for time. I have an Uncle coming today to spend a couple days and we are leaving Saturday for a week with the motor home and I am still trying to get it all trip ready and packed..The damn grass will need cutting before we leave .. I can't believe I ever had time to work, seems like since I shut the shop down I have no time..How could that be??? confuse
