Amazing how stainless lasts ....had it on my 2001 Olds Aurora and got 15 years out of it . Just now got a hole in each muffler and replaced them and the back half of the exhaust ....rest of the system including cats is still good .

^^ It was probably 12-15 years ago, I used L & N (on 2 trucks) / place was hard to find without GPS - garage behind house, out in the country.
- their stainless steel muffler install, was only $15 more than Midas aluminized crap / L & N never had a warranty claim, in 12-13 years of business, at the time
- the muffler install on my 5.0L-v8 Chev 4x4 pickup, probably added an honest 20 HP / first paved road I found, squealed the rear tires, for once
The other S/S muffler & pipe place I use and is closer to me / workmanship & pipes, turn out perfect...Owner Jim, is a very knowledgeable vintage car guy:

funny you mention that. i was at a bud's small repair shop sometime ago for a visit. another local guy was there who owned a muffler shop in town and it came up about business and he said he was down big % on the exhaust side. say's it all the new cars coming with stainless exhaust. it made sense.

Yes I wonder how the Chain shops are surviving the no exhaust business.. Stainless exhaust has been around now 20 years, and there are many cars go to the recycle yard with the original exhaust on them..I have a Ben Pearson Pipe bender with all the adapters, for flanges, expanding etc, ..I am wondering if I will ever be able to sell it for a fair price ..I paid $11 big ones for it .. May have to use it for weight in the winter..Its handy to have around but it sure does not get much use any more I have all the cards going back the sixties..
