Hi All – I was referred here from the Ontario Rodders board while researching 4 post lifts. Nice to know there are Canadian rodders around. I've been on the Ford barn and HAMB for quite a while, and am always on the lookout for Canadian flathead guys. I left the city and now live full time in Muskoka, outside the town of Rosseau.
I am starting a teardown and rebuild of my 40 Ford Tudor as soon as the electricians and painters are done with my garage/shop.
I have a replacement frame that has been repaired and primed, a Chassis Engineering rear leaf suspension kit and new centre section for split wishbones. I plan to reuse as many of the car's parts as I can, but since I am after a 3 or 4" drop, I may have to source replacement front end parts. I have an Edelbrock 3x2 intake and 3 rebuilt Stromberg 97's with progressive linkage for the 59A in the car. I plan to install a 5 speed and open drive shaft. Disc brakes will make it a reliable daily driver.
For the moment I am looking for 16" Ford period wheels and an 8" rear axle assembly so that I can establish ride height.
For all you Ford flathead guys out there, keep me in mind for any and all parts, specialty tools and especially war stories. Can't stop learning.
Finally made it eh!!! Morris.. Welcome to our shop.. Thanks for joining the site. You will find a great group here who are always trying to help as best as they can.. As far as I know there are not a lot of flathead guys here .. but I am not sure of everybody's passion..However I do know a flathead a person but he is in BC if your needing some flathead help and you are unable to get the help here I will get you some contact information if your in need..Meanwhile enjoy your stay here..
