More than likely the biggest crowd and number of vendors I have ever saw there but that being said myself and a few other vendors I talked to didn't sell enough for gas money. I must be selling the wrong items or everybody that went by my table has short arms and deep pockets...
Lindsay is a good 3 hour drive next weekend sure hope it's better for me. Lots of good stuff there

We arrived @ 7:50 am and waited till 8:15 am for the crew to find the "Key"???? to open the side gate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   confuseconfuseconfuse

There were some awesome cars and deals for the serious buyers.

Got a pair of beaded steel 283 head gaskets IN GM packaging for  $5.

We left @9:45 am and there was still a line up 2/3's the parking lot depth to get in.

Junior, you covered the buildings and corral areas in an hour and a half? Pretty serious speed shopping.... lol Wife was gone for more than 3 hours on her scouting trip.

What did I buy???,,,,, Well,,,, I bought two aftermarket smog tubes where you put the oil in a early SBC. Yes I know the intake only takes one but after I bought the one the guy said "you had better take both of them".  Some of those black plastic plugs to plug holes in sheet metal they look like a overgrown roofing nail with barbs He wanted $1.00 for 10 of them. I said $1.00 for a handful he said no $1.00 for 10 of them so I had to count them out disbeliefdisbelief.                                                                  I did buy one of those metal wall cabinets like you have that we talked about. It was about all I could  carry out. A bunch of other small stuff. It's funny how we or at least I have changed over the years. There was a day when I would drag something home and make it decent enough to use but now I can't be bothered and just go for the new item.  Anyone else feel the same??

No I didn't see Bob. I'm not sure I would know him. There was a lot of people there. I think I saw Joe (33 guy) but before I could say something he had faded into the crowds of other people. I also saw Glen and same thing he was gone. It was a good day lots of walking..

The fellow who I go with is a serious swapmeet shopper ; if I don't stay with him or keep up, he doesn't wait, then I'm looking for him to get home.  smile

You could spend all day there and not see everything.

Little off topic but surprising the more experienced (don't like to use the word older) guys I have been talking to lately feel the same way. Any new project is going to be basically a turn key. Time effort and money to put one together now has risen to a point we don't want to invest in a car. And over the next 10 years or so there will be a lot of completed cars go up for sale. Some guys have a collection of nice cars where 20 or 25 years ago we would buy up one a year as cost was much lower and kept them in the shop. But now maintaining and insurance etc is getting to be an expense and we are just as happy with 1 nice car as we used to be with 3 or 4. I know my stable is going to shrink by another 2 or 3 as soon as I decide which are the keepers. Great tiem to be in the hobby.

I think the quality of what we build now has also changed. That means a lot of stuff isn't good enough!

Missed Slim entirely , Picked up a king 6 inch belt sander on a stand with an 8 inch disk and extra belts cheap !! that was about it ,

I tend to build what everybody seems to hoard LOL. Buick nailheads ,fe ford , ford v8 60 hp , 33 34 Chevrolet  although some chev stuff there being sold by my buddy Randy , a lot of the stuff I sold him or already seen the stuff before it went to market. Was a good day though !!!

That was a green colored belt sander that you carried out on a cart? Seen it go by me on one of the few times I got outside yesterday. Remember thinking to myself that looked like a pretty good deal for somebody. That's where the t-shirts or hats would help...lol

I didn't make Ancaster .. I haven't been to swap in a couple years.. Arthuritis wanted to go but I really don't care to be hanging around with him.. He can be a real pain..And I feel over the last 45 years of lugging stuff home, I really need to get rid of stuff instead of bring more home..I do miss some of those strolls around the fields.. It's the line ups to get in and I get claustrophobic trying to elbow my way through the buildings anymore..I used to really like Ancaster better at the old location..It was always a nice day poking around. Over the last few years E-bay has become my key-board swap-meet..and that is getting less and like a lot of other things are getting less especially energy and money..cry disbelief
