Sold my '39 Buick Coupe,..and have been doing a few little minor things to the '54 Ford 2 door post ( to suit me ) and looking forward to a good and safe season of cruise nights and cruising in general.
I see a few familiar faces and names in here which will make for a good time and a great Forum.

Hello & welcome to the shop Wayne.. I will bet your glad the Buick sold.. Some times tough to get the buyer who is looking for that car..That little 54 Ford is very, very nice .. Gorgeous actually I had been trying to send you an invite So thanks to TMJ for getting it done for me..Glad to have you on here. I think I already have saved some pictures of your car that I stole from somewhere probably OR..
When I was around 14 or 15 I bought one of those well, that's lie it was a 52 I paid about 75 bucks for it because it had a rod out the block and the right side had a little damage .. I bought a 53 or 4 olds that was in the junk yard for 35 bucks and took the motor out of the olds and put it in the Ford..I really didn't know nothing about cars and stuff but I spent most of my young life next to a big farm and I was always working on machinery so we stuck that sucker in there My friend and I, his dad owned the farm .. boy that thing was fast.. But I didn't know anything about suspension or steering stuff I got pretty good at taking those tires off and tubes off the rims so I could turn the tires inside out every week end by hand with some old springs and a sledgehammer, I could buy them at the junk yard for $1:50 each ..We lived way out in the country .. like in around Vienna seldom seen a cop on the county roads in them days I had a lot of fun with that car we rolled it many times in the fields never got hurt musta been stupid and lucky..

Ha ha,...You are talking the " Really good old days " Chuck !! Have some fond memories of those days myself,...the law enforcemant back then didn't have computers,..and most of the LEO's out patrolling were not too fond of paper work and had a tendency to look the other way more often than not. In 1959 I bought my first motorcycle, ( 15 years old and no drivers lic. ) 1942 / 45cui Harley Davidson, the second night I owned it I decided to take a cruise into Port Burwell where they had a town cop who was driving a '53 Ford,...I was coming up to the T intersection on main st. right beside the hotel,...and the cop stopped for the stop sign as I was coming up behind him,...started to go forward,..I seen him checking his rearview mirror,..he seen me and hit his breaks,... I hit the rear brake on the bike, and the result I got was next to Zilch,...and I slammed right into his ass end,...I went down on my left side,.my leg pinned inder the bike,...he got out of his cruiser,..walked back,..seen it was me,...never said a word,..checked the rear of his car over for damage,..turned his attention back to me,..asked if I had a license to ride that thing,.. " no,..could you pick this thing up a bit so I can get my leg out from under it " ,... his response was, " your lucky you didn't bend my car Cole,..I'd have shot you right where yer' laying !! ",...got back into is car and left me laying there. A couple drunks ( transient tobacco workers ) were standing on the corner beside the hotel watching all this go down,..and they decided to save my life after the cop vacated,..staggered over to where I was laying on the street,...and instead of picking the bike up,..they each grabbed an arm and commenced pulling me from under the bike,...the pain was unbearable,...I thought for sure that they had amputated my leg from the hip down,..about then I was wishing to hell the cop had of shot me,...it was just shortly after that that I turned my attention t hot rod cars,.. a cage looked a whole lt more safer than the open air effect of a motorcyle.
Wow a Ford in a Ford. Car done very tastefully I like it. You are sure to have a good summer cruising.
Thank You for the compliments GMDad. My wife bought the car already modified. It was brought into Canada from Kentucky back in 2010, by a gentleman ( Licensed Mechanic ) from London,..who began his auto mechanics career back in 1955,...and has been into building and wrenching ever since. The engine is a very fresh 1968 Mustang 289,..with a rebuilt C-4 automatic, and a '94 Fairlane 8" rear differential,..the previous owner did the entire swap of the drive train once the car became a Canadian subject.
Being an American '54,.it of course had the old " Y " block engine in it when he purchased it,..of which the previous owner told me,.." The only thing that Y block was any good for, was keeping the dust down ",... before installing the 289, he painted it up to resemble a original Y block,..and he even got hold of some Ford Factory Y block decals for the valve covers and the old oil bath breather and stuck them on,..opening the hood,..at first glance one thinks they are looking at a Y block engine. He did a extremely nice job of installing the entire drive train,..neat,..clean and tidy.

I see you sold the Buick,,, good for you. Just my opinion but that car never did anything for me and I like red. That's just my opinion though.
You know what you need is a nice Model A maybe dark blue with a SBF in it with grey interior.. That would suit you well IMO..

My biggest problem getting here was attaching a link to here on my favourites bar,..Rick.
I loved the way the '39 handled and all,..but I got way to comfortable driving this '54 last season,..and the coupe sat in the shop all summer.
But have no fear,...I am working on coming up with a Model A 2 Door Coach,...I thought that I had them out of my system until I seen one all done up at the final Tillsonburg cruise night last fall,..and that tore it,...I started looking for one. There are a few of them out there. The gent that bought my Model A, re-sold it,..and I don't know where it went,..otherwise I would go looking for it.

I meant to " Thank You " in last nights post for the invite over here Chuck,...and to tell you that I did get 3 or so messages from you, telling me about this site,..but being a little brain dead,...I kept punching back into the other Forum thinking that this site was just a branch of the other one,..sorry about that !! I don't know how many times I went into the other forum looking for " The Community ",..LOL, thank god TMJ ( Rick ) showed up and got my friggin' noggin heading in the right direction,...I'd have probably ended my days sitting in an empty room over in the other place talking to myself.
Yes,..the Buick was a tough sell,..( over 12000 hits on Kijiji,...probably 400 lowball / rediculous offers,....500 trade offers,..right down to a French fry Wagon, (that needed to be moved) yet ),...but like the Model A,...it just took the right guy that wanted that style vehicle,..and it was a done deal.
