GMDAD i finally got the pics loaded of the front brakes on my 57 bel air please forgive the rust i will clean all when it is time lol this uses chevelle rotors and gen 2 calipers and flex lines i need to get dust caps and yes i bought just the mounting brackets for 50 dollars the rest come from the parts store you do need bearing for the change over and you will need to redrill for the cotter pin but it goes very well
Does this kit make the front wheel tread with any wider? Presume it uses the common 1969 Corvette master cylinder? Thats whats on my 40 Chev with no proportioning valve.
GMDAD no it does not change anything in the front and as for the master till i figure what i am doing for sure in the back (hope to put disc on the back also ) yes a vette master will work in my case i will need to install residual valves into the lines
thanks bob
57 bowtie
I have the identical set up on my 57 including the residual valves. Go with a corvette style 1in bore master and at least an 8in double power booster. I went to the 8 double a few years ago on my 57 and finally had the pedal I wanted
thanks rochie for that info the only issue is that i am not going to use a booster as this motor will not have enough vacuum to operate it so just going manual brakes but the master is a good deal
thanks bob
