. When I am not trying to do the Administration stuff my board name is "Fatchuk" I am from the St.Marys area My current ride is a 1948 Ford long door coupe..biggrin biggrin  I guess I could add that I am a semi, sort of retired from 45 years in the Auto-mechanic trade. I have had my own shop for about 30 years out here in the Boonies of St.Mary's. I guess over the years I have built a couple rods and restored a few others..I am still learning to be better..well into my seventies but still suffering from mechanicarthritis and speedolitis ..Had a couple MRI's but they tell me so far the only treatment is to spend more time wrenching, burning rubber, breathing paint fumes, listening to loud rock & roll music...and ogling women..biggrin So, I am trying to follow my Drs instructions..except I am more of Country rock-a-billy music guy but I still like ogling and cruising ..I would like to Welcome everyone to this board.. If I can help anybody with registering or posting please let me know and I will do the best I can to help U.. I am not a computer guru so please bear with me while I learn as I go..I am open to any suggestions that will make this a friendly, informative place to spend some quality time with other like minded persons..and if any of you have any suggestions or skills that can help with a logo or header for the board..."HELP" wink

I thought I would add a picture of my wifes  ride.."happy wife still never changed life"

My name is John and I live in Varna, Ontario. I have been a convertible lover ever since my first car (a 1950 Chev Convertible when I was 16)

I restored a 1964 Chev Impala SS Convertible for my son for his 16th birthday and a 1973 VW Beetle for my daughter for her 16th.

I have restored a few over the last 20 years but now at my age, I am just content to drive them. Currently driving a 1969 Buick Skylark convertible.

Happy Motoring!!!

Welcome John:.. Thanks for signing on..I am not to far from you Just over by Kirkton ..I am 1 concession North of Kirkton just east of 23...I like convertibles too..But I just have a PT-Cruiser Convertible for my wife. I dressed it a bit for her pic is in a post above.. I do have a 28 Ford roadster..but not finished and I don't think I will ever finish it now..I am pretty much done with to much wrenching..arthritis.. Just keeping my coupe serviced and the motor home and daily drivers, lawn mowers  takes about all I can manage these days..I am probably gonna sell the 28 ..but I have not decided that yet..You know the old story "i am gonna finish that some day" .....maybe ..but not likely...Probably run into each other some place this summer..I don't get to as many events as I used to as my wife has gotten ill and needs more time to care for her so life changes a bit for us..

I keep wondering if I may have met you..Any chance you might have bought a 70 wildcat from me a few years ago for the 455 ? Seems to me I sold one to guy up that way a few years back.. It was green...just curious..

Chuck, did you build that red Ford coupe ? There was one just like that down in the Stoney Creek area bout 10 years ago and got sold. I was never really a Ford man but that red coupe with those wheel discs was the one that could have converted me.  This pic was taken at E.L.T.A. in 2013 but this is yours.E.L.T.A. Yes I had originally owned this car back in 69..I sold it about 75 or 76 when some hard times came then got it back in the early 80s and then had to sell it again and got it back about 8 years ago..each time doing some upgrading and thankfully each time I sold it, it was taken care of .. I am wrestling with having to sell it again..A couple pics from about 73 or 4 I have more but I can't find them at the moment..That was ,still is my youngest boy and he is 45 now, so that was a while back..

Yes ....I thought for sure it was gone and I would never see it again..next time it will be gone forever..getting harder and harder to  keep her maintained and the expense is beginning to eat into the fixed income..It is possible I may outlive my savings especially with two liberal majority's They spent everything in the coffers and are now on a borrowing binge soon to be cutting back on OAS & CPP to pay the interest..

Listened to the budget a little yesterday and I can't fully comprehend how much $308,000,000,000. really is ? Geez and I get bummed out over a $500. Visa bill.
So where did Ron Dube fit in with your coupe? He had it back in the 90s I believe and I thought he sold it to Chuck. Knew both of them for long long time but Ron has since passed away.

Since we lost SUN news I really have given up on any Canadian news.. I find all the news on Canadian Television is Liberal Biased..And the CBC is pathetic.. I have switched my political appetite to American politics..I have become a FOX NEWS junkie and a strong supporter of the "DONALD" I n my view he will be a good president at this time in history , He will blow-up the American establishment political system..He fascinates me and I believe he is the right man at this time..I believe he is a common sense person and for me the proof is in the pudding he has built a pretty successful business ,he has some great kids, he looks like a strong "honest" leader..He may not have all the answers but I believe he quite smart and understands how to get the right people in the right places and understands the secret of delegation and how to get-er-done..I am buying one of his hats for a souvenir..I believe the time has past for the "BUSHES & CLINTONS"..I will be glad to see the end of them..and really, What happens in America hugely affects Canada.. So I am in Donald's corner desperately looking a Donald Trump in Canada ..smile
