Rene" on those C4 fords the back up lite switch is part of the neutral start switch .. Some of them were on the side of the trans shifter linkage.. and some of them were on the lower part of the steering column but they all had one..what do you have for a neutral start switch??? If you are hooked to power you should be able to find it if not you can find it with an OHM meter.. but they do have one it's just that they incorporate it into the neutral start switch..Do you have a wiring schematic if not try and google one..

Yep i saw that but am not using the ford colum am using a gm one but am not using the ****her on the colum am using a tranny mounted lokar shifter it has the nutral switch on it that works. The tranny has not back up switch on it .Lokar does a kit for a gm back up switch but no kit for a C4 Ford tranny .

I am still not understanding why you can't just use the style mounted on the transmission selector stub and just use the back up portion .. for the back up lights.. doesn't matter that you are using the Lokar shifter.. you can use the Ford neutral start switch just for the back up lights. It just slides on the shift selector shaft..and still knows when your in reverse ..It just closes the circuit to power the reverse lights..If Lokar uses one for the GM colum what is the difference it just an on off switch no matter who makes it Ford.GM or Lokar..it is still the same it's either on or off to power the lights..Why can't you use the gm kit for the shifter...

Nice truck. Could you bolt a micro switch onto the side of the shifter which would be activated when the shifter is in Reverse?
