So my daughter Kelsey began a journey collecting pieces about a year ago to build a rat rod truck. She bought a 1951 Ford truck cab,  

I got her a nice set of western doors, she bought a nice first gen S10 and parted it all out to end up with a chassis. Her aunt called us one night to 

see if her 1982 Mercedes would be a suitable drivetrain donor,if so ,come and get it... little did we know she didn't have the rusty yellow Benz she

had for years but had bought a n nice US car with near perfect body when we arrived to pick up... Needless to say, Kelsey fell in love with it

immediately, this is where she is with it so far as she fixes and drives the wheels off it...

As brought home,stock,original paint etc..

Lowered 5" immediately.. removed and cut coils, drives amazing still...

Passengers front fender and grill had been replaced at some point, I'm guessing aftermarket crap because it was severely rusted, qeue the sheet metal shaping class . I showed Kelsey how to make a few patches and weld them in, couldn't find a good fender for under a grand so did what we know best.

Bottom leading edge was also gone , so out comes the hammer, sand bag and planishing hammer...

This is where she trial fits the wheels I've had since my high school days, eventually conning me out of them for the time being..

Her fist road trip after we also discovered a poor transmission, swapped out,plated and on the road, this was in Colborne during our shakedown 

This is Kelsey being Kelsey...lol .. She is finally back to Fleming College finishing her welding tickets and looking forward to a life of fabricating!
