I retired last year so I started to get more time in my basement work shop this year.
here are a few projects that i've been working on, first a kitchen cabinet that I turned into a work bench . I put on some car crests that my brother saved off of my grandfather's 1959 Dodge Royal station wagon.
Next was a bench that I built from scratch using some of my Father's wood from a project that he built back in the 1980's. then a few small projects after that' I even got Dan Woods to autograph a licence plate for me at autorama some years ago.
I see the corner of a Mark V Shopsmith in there. I have a early version of that model, built in November 1954. I rebuilt it last year but haven't used it much since. Neat machines and well built. I bought it years ago when I was fascinated with its design but now I have individual tools for each function. I still intend on using it, more as a wood lathe than anything else.
Hi there,
Time traveller you have what is know as a greenie built back in that era. My Father bought It back in 1984 and bought the whole system with it , it doesn't see much action now a days.
There is a shop smith forum that I am member of lots of good info on there. I find that it is a good system ,but a lot of time spent on changing accessories so that's why I don't use it . I do have a power station that I use a lot with the band saw accesory , on it. The power station has a variable speed motor on it. That's why I bought it years ago.
