Douglas Couse a St. Thomas resident my whole life. I grew up through the period when performance and muscle became part of the car culture. Along with that, drag racing became part of the local scene. Initially at the local airport and then at the new [then] St. Thomas Drag way. As a young teen, I had a couple of older cousins that were into the car scene including drag racing. My cousins took me along to the drag strip a few times. During the early years I enjoyed building model cars and also enjoyed watching all the nice factory muscle cars around town. St.Thomas was a hot bed of awesome cars back then. Fast forward, I currently have a 56 Pontiac that I drove home from Brandon Manitoba. Previous I owned a 56 Pontiac Chieftain [American], 1974 Nova Hatchback and a1967 Camaro. My first car I owned when I started driving was a1968 Beaumont 327 cu.in 4 speed.
