Ah man, that sucks. Didn't you just finish that fence this past summer? It looked so nice.
We've got over a 1000 feet of board on board around our place, 6' most of it, 10' between our home and the Retirement development outdoor pool next door.( I'm surrounded on 3 sides by Grey power) It's all on 6X6.
John you've seen the fence around my yard. The previous owner built it. It has 4X4 posts and one of them is broken right off. It's been like that for two years now with just a brace on it. It's on my to do list. Late last night I went out to see if it was still standing. I was thinking I would put in a 6X6 when I replace it. TMJ
It's low back there so maybe it's an opportunity to bring in some 'dirt' and level off the back. They are all in 4 feet with 2 bags of cement. The water table is high here also.
COME ON S P R I N G!!!!!

In an area without heavy wind that fence would have stood until the 4X4's rotted off at the ground - which, if the water table is high could have been sooner than you thought, even with the quik-mix.
The fence just becomes a huge horizontal sail, the pressure from buffeting wind is often under-estimated. I know a fellow who had to replace 60' of board on board sections because the 4X4's snapped off at the ground. He had to do it again 2 years later - because he used 4X4's the 2nd time too.
