warren this isn't to distract on your original thread "field of dreams" out west in estavan and thank you. if you haven't been out there in various areas you wouldn't know there a still some pockets of these places albeit dwindling in numbers as time goes on.
this field of dreams and many other places like it have been increasing rapidly in the last couple of years within a 1/2hr drive from you or myself and it's not roblin's or the old minnakers. last estimate from a couple of people in the know is well over 20 places and most are drive throughs. these guy's are well ahead of the feds in rolling out their pot law's at our local rez.
this one popped up a couple of months ago and there are 2 or 3 more close enough to it you could hit them with a good toss of a baseball.
this one has been there for a year or so and it is the one that has the similarities in your thread title. a couple of my brothers were down for a visit from peterborough a while back and i was telling them about what was happening down there and i could see they were a bit skeptical, lol. a 20 min drive later to this one and they couldn't believe it. the one brother has been back a couple of times since and i don't think its for my hospitality and cooking. lmao
Rick, I go up a couple of times a week for fuel and it really is amazing the proliferation of these outlets. Over on 49 there are about a half dozen with another three under construction. Maybe a lot of these will be impacted July 1, but looking at the temporary buildings they are putting up, I don't think anyone has too great an investment in there sites.
They are all the REZ, basically it means provincial laws don't apply. They have been selling cheap smokes there for years. This is just the next step.
The OPP aren't really welcome there. They have they're own police force.
yea i know mike but it just pississ's me off when they have their hand out from our trough is all. when they get done evenly taxing themselves then take a number for the tough line for a top up. there is only a handful of rezz's in canada where this goes on to this extent. i have been doing business done there for years and have a couple of good buds down there and they are shaking their heads over this pot trick down there. they figure it's just going to be a matter of time before the sh!t hits the fan and now there are a couple of places putting out big volumes of booze.
3 or 4 guys have spent some money on this warren. that new big log building on the west end of york rd by wards gas bar has over 2 mil put into the building and contents i hear and for those guys it is chunk change anyway. i usually go down once a week for a good home cooked meal at deb's restaurant and sit back and have an enjoyable cigarette after the meal, lol, brothers couldn't believe that one either, smoking in a restaurant. lol it's another world down there.

We must live in a more sheltered part of Ont.. I have not seen or heard of any retail dream stores up around this part of Ontario... But I do live in an isolated part surrounded by political correctness and gobly gook.. I should get out more..

Why should they care??? Remember a year or so ago if someone was caught with a needle sticking out of their arm they got arrested? Now all the big cities are setting up safe injection sites. What is wrong here? Yesterday it was illegal. Today "here is a warm,safe,clean place to inject with supplies, washroom, and a on duty nurse". And FREE I just don't get it. Bottom line its the cheapest way to deal with an Issue that's been around forever and is not going away anytime soon . Keeps needles off our streets and parks and away from our kids. Not to mention hep c aids and some other nasty stuff. Don't kid yourself 99% of the people they put in Jail the first thing they do is load them up on drugs so they are easy to control then we pay their room and board we pay for a few ugly baby-sitters and a nurse to hand out drugs Im no bleeding heart but to keep throwing away money at a proven failed system is just as crazy as sticking a needle in your arm.

This was getting a little more personal or straying into more than it should be on this forum..I don't want this forum to go into feuding about politics, So I felt it best to lower the temp and just delete a couple posts that were going nowhere but down hill mine included.. Best to keep some thoughts and opinions to ones self.. on some topics.. . we will just agree to disagree.. We have different opinions on needles and supervised injection sites...So carry on . Chuck
