I found this on Kijiji and it kind of brushed some of the dust and web's off my tiny wee mind. I do remember seeing the "WEATHER EYE" writing in these cars. So what did the "WEATHER EYE" thingy do??? Was it hooked to a barometer? was it like the weather report I get on my cell via the web??? How did it work?? anyone know? Any guess's Educate me/us please!
Geez, I knew that rang a bell ! Had to run out and pull the cover off the car.
Sure as heck, the Javelin has that on the Heater Control thingy do dad.
I think once upon a time, Nash/Ramblers and the AMC's had some thermostat whoey connected to the heat controls ? I'm guessing it was just controlling the flappy door on the heater box, so you didn't fry.
This car doesn't have any thermostat on the heater lines or core, but it still says 'Weather Eye' on the panel.
there is a short clip in here showing the weather-eye.. Funny the things we we never noticed to much in the day.. They had some pretty advanced ideas that just never made it..
and another promotional film by Nash..
