The other weekend myself and ELTA brothers Scot Haviland and Chris Nemeth took a little road trip down to Mentor Ohio to my pal Don Moyers place to look at his 1969 Flopper that was for sale. It's such a cool find that Chris Nemeth stepped up and grabbed this rare chance to own such a unique race car........should have this bad boy back to the ELTA in a few weeks.

Looks very good I hope to see it in real life at some point
The Vette flopper should be down at the ELTA Shop in a few weeks....drop by the ELTA shop some Saturday morning for coffee after we get it back for a peek....cheers.
We met Don for the first time yesterday at his home. We went to the Gasser 409 reunion at Thompson. He told us the car was coming back to Ontario. What a super guy and a real neat collection of cars. Lot of fun.

We were off again for Mentor Ohio this Sunday to go bring back the Vette Flopper....the old girl should look very cool in the ELTA Shop come next week.....another adventure...count down is on.
Don is events co-ordinate for Gasser Magazine. The magazine used to hold their annual gasser meet at Thompson, but the track decided it should take all the control and all the profits so Don, over a period of time managed to get into 42. It was just under construction and took almost two years to get the event running. Ohio gasser racing is fantastic and Don is one of the big promoters of it. Google Gasser Magazine and their web site should have the dates. It wasn't published in the last issue. I've known Don for years and have been to his home on several occasions and still find new and interesting memorabilia and cars on each visit. It's good that the vette is coning to the ELTA, it didn't really fit the AMC based museum that he has. Wasn't sure whether to post this in events or here since both are talking about Don Moyer and Thompson Raceway
I believe Chris (new owner) will get it running .....already from all the ELTA brothers we have thrown parts towards the project (motor, tranny etc)...I know he does want to take the Vette to the track for a pass (1/8 mile) and to cackle it.....but time will tell.....just a cool piece of history.

Dons a great friend and a die hard drag racer.....as Don was telling me...if he looks around at all the projects he's got in the shop he just doesn't have enough years to build them all so he's thinning the heard......lol.....I think there's probably a few members on this site that may have the same problem.....lol.....we are just happy to be able to help our ELTA brother Chris bring this old warrior back to life.

There are a pile of race people in Ohio. Don gave us 2 more names to check out not too far from his place but we didn't have time on this trip. What do you think of his "clubhouse" in the big shop. ?

Dons shops (3) inside and out are all very cool places to see......I know this time around the shop was cleaned out a bit but we (ELTA) were down last winter to Dons and the place certainly looks packed when everything is parked inside....lol.
Cool pictures.. I love the diner,,wish I had room for one of those!!! TMJ
Just for your FYI....Don picked this vintage dinner up years ago out of a Dinner Museum on the east coast. The whole dinner was transported in boxes with many of the panels being only a foot to 2 feet long......it took Don 10 years to finally get the dinner built inside his shop.
Myself and the guys had a fun adventure bringing back the Vette Funny car to the ELTA Shop on the weekend....looks right at home there but I know Chris is looking forward after the ELTA BASH to wip it back to his home shop to start the work on it.....another fun ELTA outing....lol.
