Up graded the shop!

I decided to go with the Atlas lift from Clentec out of St.Thomus area.  Nice guy to deal with.  I also had it installed to save myself the hassle.  They did a great job and left my shop with out any new messes to clean up.  The guys swept the floor and broke up the card board so it could be easily recycled.  I left their business cards in the shop but will edit this post later and ad all the info.  I looked at quite a few other forums and found that Atlas has a pretty positive reputation, with lots sold in the US.  A fellow Rodder(toomuchjunk) sent me a PM telling me of Clentec and said they were great.  The picture is when the lift was almost done.  The wiring had to be done by someone else because the installers aren't "electricians" My son Ben handle it the next day.  It is temporarily wired in the picture just to test the unit.  Hoping to play with it this weekend and oil change my truck standing up!  If anyone on this forum is trying to decide on a lift, I would gladly open the shop and let you check out this lift to help you make your choice.  There are lots out there to choose from.  I personally liked the one piece columns and the web info says that it is an actual tested 9000lb lift.

Cheers

Newhoist picture since photocrooks messed everything up.

I must add to Rich's comments about these guys.
When I called them I asked him about the delivery. He said he could deliver it for free as he had a truck going there anyway ( I don't think this happens all the time).
I asked for their address so I could drop off a deposit to get the deal started. He said if you say you want it that's good enough for me.
He called the next day or the day after and asked if I would be home as he was going to deliver it. I asked for the complete name for the certification of the check.
He said not to worry about that.
The hoist I bought is a four post and it's perfect for what I wanted. I can move it around (empty) with less effort then it takes to move my welder.
The runaways are not overly wide so I can step in and out of the vehicle easily. Just the right height and goes up and down at a decent speed.
I wanted a 4 post to do the complete build of my '40 after the Dodge is done. With the'40 I plan on leveling the hoist and the entire build happening on the hoist. It's just easier to move the truck up and down then this old fat guy climbing up and down.
I researched these and the one I bought was the cheapest I could find. I looked at pictures of other hoists on the net and other then the stickers on them most all looked the same. One of the more expensive suppliers units that does a lot of talking about their quality looked the same. Even the shipping rack that bolts to each end of the unit for shipping looks the same. Kind of makes me think one factory with different stickers but I have been wrong once before.
I have no regret with my unit.

Everything that TMJ said happened when I called as well. Pretty much
a hand shake deal over the phone. He also held the lift for me at his warehouse for Couple weeks so I could clear my shop. Ben's project was completely dissembled when I ordered the lift. Because I paid to have it installed and wasn't too far out of the way, no delivery charge. The installation fee covered the hydraulic fluid as well. They also we're having a pretty rough day due to a 4 hour hold up at the warehouse in Toronto. This caused them to be very late getting to my house ( after 8 instead of 4:00). They called twice keeping me informed and said they still wanted to do the install that day. It was a late night for them but they got it in no problem. I was very happy with the hole deal.

i think you may be on to something with this TMJ, " Kind of makes me think one factory with different stickers but I have been wrong once before." i was thinking the same thing. mine is labelled daytona but same color and placement of the pump. its a 10,000lb for my dually and have only had to adjust the cable once to level it out in about 5 years. their biggest concern was how much cement under it but i had poured extra in that corner when built. i seen another one pretty much identical with a different name also. very good pricing for a new one installed compared to finding and lugging home an unknown used one. they are usually selling them for a reason. ditto on the 4 post as well. identical packaging as one my bud bought, both black, but different branding.
the dealer down this way is from brighton and very good to deal with as well. give it a bit of time slab and you will wonder how you went so long without one especially as age creeps up on us. lol

Don't want to derail Slabs topic here but going along with what Shag said have you ever thought about the similarities between shape of these two emblems

The atlas site says "not all lifts are created equal". Their site says that the quality of steel can be different. They tested a competitors lift at it's rated. Maximum and it failed. That being said, you can write anything on a web site nowadays. The installers said the lock mechanism is much simpler on the atlas as well. There is definitely a lot of choices.

Ben got our new wall art Summit Racing banner up this weekend.  I like it.  Can't afford antique signs so this was perfect.  Picked it up from Summit in Ohio on our Father son trip to a Camaro show.
