Vertical Mill - BeaverMill Mk 2.

Anyone need a vertical mill?   I am selling the one I picked up.  I am stuck and have no place to put it right now and don't want it to get damaged being outside tarped for the winter.

I recently bought this mill but lift has gotten to busy for me to do anything with it, including getting it to my shop. It is currently stored outside, tarped up. There is no corrosion on it - yet. This is why I am selling it. It will be a few months before I can get it to my shop and I really do not want it sitting outside covered in tarps with the weather getting ito it. I would rather it go to someone who will use it instead of it sitting.

This is a late 60's Vintage BeaverMill Mk 2. These English made mills are considered to be stiffer than a Bridgeport and don't have the expensive pancake motors.

You can find all documentation about them online - a good place to start is here: http://www.lathes.co.uk/beaver/

The gibbs are nice and tight and there is no undue wear anywhere. overall the machine is in nice shape. It is currently 575v 3 phase but takes a standard frame 3hp motor, which makes it easy to change to whatever voltage you want to use. It has a 58" table with a large machinists vise currently. It also has hydraulic speed control and looks like power x/y feed,

This is a very heavily built mill for its size at about 2500lbs and will have to be picked up near Steeles/Yonge street.

$500 obro

Here's link for some opinions on the Beaver Mk.2 mill. That's a good deal, too bad I don't have room.

even with Loading and trucking that is a great deal for anyone so inclined - I'm sorry you have to give it up and would dearly love to take it off your hands but at present I'm tapped and have no where to put it myself .

Yes. There are a few people interested in it, but they are all coming a distance and haven't made it yet. First one to pick it up with cash, gets it.

a little tid-bit. my bud has a shop around here who is darn near infamous for his ingenuity, shermans welding and machine, for many years. after we got it off the truck and started looking at it he explained some stuff about how it was made and what it was capable of, very interesting. it was an older machine and he said to replace that today with the same quality was big $$$'s. i asked him how much when it was new and he smiled and said he wasn't real sure because he couldn't of afforded something like that back in those days but guesstimated 60 to 80g's. i smiled back and said that's a lot of barter bucks jimmy. lmao again thanks rick and it went to a good place.
