It's going to get friggen cold..I hate winter more every year.. I would never miss winter if it never came.. Give me more of the global warning..

We were supposed to get up to 15" over the weekend, but fortunately the weatherman was wrong again!..Got about 8" of really light snow....As you guys may know, I came from a "warmer" climate and I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna get used to the amount of snow and the low temps that are here!..Single digits here for the high for the next few days!
Put the furnace on in the shop this morning. was just out and it's up to 60 so I hate to but I have to head out to put a "Y" pipe and converter om a GM truck.. last job before Christmas. but damn it's snowing again. all ready have over a ft, damn friggen cold , my blood is so thick my heart can hardly pump it. Probably gonna have to drink a liter of Amsoil to lube up the veins..I DO NOT LIKE WINTER.. .. I like heat as I get older.. can't seem to get warm enough.. Hope that doesn't mean I will be going to hell for eternity..hoping my friends will going up...

Out here on Vancouver Island we did get some snow. About 6" or so.
I'm north of Victoria and they got about 2".
This almost shuts down the whole Island.

I remember living in the lower mainland, and 2" would shut everything down, cuz nobody knew how to drive in that stuff.

Was up cleaning off ice buildup on awning to front office here at the plant (water coming into foyer) stepped off the ladder into 10" of water ,wind damn near blow a fella off , soaked to the ass , hands are frostbit AGAIN , the older I get the less tolerance I have for this S@#$ ,definately wears on my sunny disposition . HWY21 to Amberly closed again (another sign of the weather to come ) - I HATE WINTER
Larry ( Really Grumpy 50 )
PS here is a little diddie adapted from Robbie Burns
It's winter in Ontario
And the gentle breezes blow
at 70 miles an hour
And 35 below
Ohh I love Ontario
When the snows up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And freeze your nostrils shut
Ohh the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
It's hard to leave Ontario
When your ass is froze to the ground
I like the little Poem there Larry.. I stole it sent it to a couple friends.. You will soon be hibernating up there in the frozen North in Hensall..Keep your stick on the ice and open the damper at least once a day to burn the creosote out of your chimney..

That poor little guy out in the corner looks like he froze to steel..I have many other names for this, I could not find winter wonderland in my list.. It looks beautiful in the picture. I wish I was in a warm country till May, looking at the picture instead of being in it..
I was deliberately not going to post as the snow was missing us up until yesterday...Yes we got about 12 inches and probably at least that again before the weekend is out. I thought if I posted I would jinx us but now its every snowblower for himself.
To think I went cruising on Christmas and boxing day last year....The words out of my mouth to my wife last night was "Crap I think its here to stay lol"
Then to top it all off my diesel tractor must of had some water in it because its frozen and won't run. So I got p'd off and went and bought a new 3 stage snowblower.
Hopefully its easy enough for the wife to use.(ok that line is a joke)
Caution to everyone is to take it easy clearing snow and take your time and make sure you take breaks, we don't need any heart attacks out there.
Yes, I'm positive Diane is too, but that is a funny pic. I must blast it off on Photo paper for my 80 year-old mom and tell her she needs to be more active ! Ha.
Same snow here as St Marys I guess and they say more tonight and another storm rolling in tomorrow night. I have 1 Blower left for sale and it's hard to let it go, cause I like having a back-up, just in case 'ol reliable breaks something.
We keep getting that crap up here as well, but I'm quickly running out of time to start my Christmas shopping so I took off up to North bay to try and get some done, The drive home was very enjoyable
I was home for about two hours and then got a call and had to turn around and go back up to the hospital.
apparently it wasn't driving in the crappy weather that took out my 82 yr old stepdad..... but the 8.9 Olympic rated ( we're guessing because we weren't there to actually see him in action ) he ended up doing down the basement stairs and landing headfirst on cement floor.
broken clavicle.
broken scapia
broke ribs 1 through 8
just about bit his tongue in half and a lovely concussion With small brain bleed.
The last thing he remembers doing is bending down to pick up the handful of cookies he dropped at the top of the stairs🙄
He will recover. And doesn't need any surgery to fix anything he broke luckily.
I'm pretty sure if anyone else that age had a fall them like that it would've killed him or broke his neck, so we're thankful for that.
Just goes to show you can get bitten in the ass by the most unexpected things. Who would have thought homebaked church cookies would potentially be lethal ? Or worth dying over?
Be safe out their my friends. Count your blessings. Every day we wake up on this side of the grass it is a blessing . Even if it's snow covered. 🤗
Also would like to just throw this out there. My mom found him she wasn't sure how long he had been lying there. So of course she called 911. EMTs loaded him up took him via ambulance to police officers waited with my mom until I got there. They offered to give her a ride to the hospital but she wanted to ride with me. She is not a fan of cars in bad weather and wanted to be in a truck. So they gave us an escort with lights flashing. I couldn't thank them enough. Made the 20 min drive in very good time. And safely in the crappy weather.
It was nice to be able to not worry too much about the speed limit and have flashing lights behind me and I actually have them in front of me for a change 👍
They went over / above duty.
