so big thanks to Joe for sending up some killer vintage licence plates with Nick !

unbeknownst to either of them I had to make a " barnafender" for my bro,s 50 th birthday today. (Glenn sent me a video of one last week)IMG_5326.JPG

And I was thinking how nice it would be to have a license plate to use for a pick guard.....

And poof! He will love playing this.

So big thanks to both Joe  for thinking of me and Nick for driving them up here for me to use!

Yep, he's a southpaw.  I of course broke a couple strings when I was trying to finish up in the wee am hrs this morning....lol

which was probably a good thing...I had strings on for right handed/play. hmmsmile So all new ones, and done for left now.

Looks great. How does it sound? Close to a regular guitar?

That is just awesome Janice.. What a great idea.. You could sell a ton of them I bet..  Where did you source the bridge and the neck fret board.. As an old player I would probably buy a couple of them.. I think it's very, very cool and would just great hanging on the wall some place..

I want one....biggrin

I can't take the credit for that idea. Glenn sent me a video of an electric version a guitar builder made. A barnacaster.

Ill try and post the link here.

I made the mistake of showing my brother and he loved it and uttered the dreaded words 4 days before his birthday  he wanted one.

This is what I could pull out of my arse within that timeframe. I found one that was all broke to hell and just used the neck from it.

I built it with the thought that it would be a cool wall hanging piece .

But it actually worked and plays really well . Lol

I got everyone to sign the back of it with birthday wishes and then clearcoated it.

not bad for a "first edition" barnafender. Lmao

I am going to build the electric version for him so I'll let you know how that turns out.
