trump won the election because hard working people got sick and tired of seeing liberals hand away their hard earned money to slack ass freeloaders who dont work but vote liberal, liberals keep these people on the dole as a voting base, so good for america, perhaps we can rid ourselves of wynne and turdumb who are doing the very same thing to us

I can hardly wait till Jan 21st .. When he starts to drain the swamp.. and build the wall.. He has already told told our sissy golden boy that he wants to talk to him about NAFTA.. I don't think NAFTA was good to Ontario either..I am a Trumper supporter so I hope he doesn't let us down..I heard he doesn't want to move into the white house. It's probably a dump compared to his digs at Trump Tower.. I am thinking even Air Force One will be a downgrade for him..Anyway I wish him lots of luck on his next 4 year Journey he will need it. I think he will have lots of push-back from the house and senate as there is still a lot of the same old boys trying to fatten up their wallets and doing nothing accept interfering with Trumps plan to make America Great Again.. ALL the luck to you Donald  and America...I am hoping down the road your success is good to Canada to and Canada gets to be great again..

Notice how the Liberals are always wanting to screw with the electoral system. Junior is trying to do it now. Electoral College in the state worked but now they want first past the post because they lost. Selfie Junior is trying to get rid of that. Liberalism is a disease.

Seems like we been let down on a lot of elections.. Even though he's is the American President, He has inspired me with hope for Canada.. He pretty much worked his butt off every day alone with his own money and very little if any help from his party.. He took them all while he was campaigning as well..I wish him the best and hope some of Make America Great spill over into Canada and maybe we just might get somebody in Canada to step up the table that has the the balls to lead this country instead of the wimp we have running us into debt like Obama has done to US..Go Donald GO we are watching ..

For me its kind of  like being the better conjoined twin in the situation. You want to be surgically removed but not sure what twin or body parts will suffer or worse, die.

I agree that all countries have issues that need to be dealt with. Canada as a country and all provinces have issues.

But Canada is still the best country in the world! I don't understand. How is it that the  2 choices the States ended up with were the best/cream of the crop?

We have the freedom to elect who we want here. I'm not happy with who is screwing us over here either. But we have the option to change that.

Talking about issues with Hilary Clinton is a waste of time. She wont be president and wont have input on the direction their taking. It would not have mattered to me who else was a candidate as soon as it became evident that they were heading in the same direction as Trump that would have moved them to the not happening category for me.

I based my opinion of Trump and his platforms on what I heard  come out of his mouth and conduct witnessed during debates.

Not news or social media as that is all spin IMO.

Do I care that he has a knuckle dragging ape mentality who doesn't have a great opinion of women, (Polite way to put it!) Not really, I am not so foolish to realise that some men ( and women) do talk and think that way. Those same men/women  that are in power positions think that way and It doesn't change my world to much. I have learned to deal with that and hope that each generation moves past that a little more until it is a non issue. Probably wont see it in my kids generation or grandkids, but maybe someday.

What is so mind-blowing to me is that many think/feel things are so bad that they are willing to accept and give away/ trade many basic human rights for the promise of "making America great" again.

Think about what made it so great in the first place?? Why wars have been fought to preserve these rights and freedoms!

So now they might get some jobs back or might slightly benefit financially.......a few less taco stands lol but they should take the statue of liberty down and give it back to the French. Bulldoze Ellis island. Apparently there is no need for these anymore. many of American's ideals and aspirations have now changed!

I am scared that the Canadians mentality is changing/leaning that way as well.

Every time the restrictions tighten on our car hobby there is outrage, and rightly so.

I don't care if he turns things around over there so much/well that I as a Canadian business line my pockets with 20, 40 or 100 million $ a year! And hydro starts sending me a cheque for $1000 a month to use it. I'm just not willing to trade mine or my kids/grandkids ect. future way of life and basic human rights/freedoms to live in a country like that. Not worth anything!

As remembrance day shortly followed the election, my thoughts often wonder to my grandfather. As a young Canadian teen he left his family, friends, job, home, everything he knew and owned to go fight a war to protect those rights. The lives of 2 of his brothers and his best friend were lost fighting the same war. His best friend right in front of him.

He was gone for 5 years. My mother ( My grandmother was a war bride and immigrated from England) didn't even know or recognise him when he came home. He didn't talk much about things he saw or endured. But was always quick to tell all of us grandkids and great grandkids why he did!

I just cant imagine that as a human race we cant figure these issues out without taking huge leaps back.

So for all the "good" things he is "saying" he will do....... his unstable, divisive, and quite frankly scary as hell platforms are absolute deal breakers for me.

I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. Work 18hrs a day 7 days a week. Not much to show for it financially and gets tougher every year.

Would I like it to be easier? of course. But I don't even want to think about trying to deal with a government that adds all these other issues to the top of the sh*t pile.

That we can have this amazing forum on the internet and exchange knowledge, thoughts and different opinions is a freedom we have grown accustom to.

But don't ever get complacent. Things change when no one is looking and we could lose this freedom as well.

I'm sure Trump supporters are hoping and betting he will better the country. Again, change was wanted  and I'm not saying change wasn't needed. And I know huge risks /huge rewards if it works. Just not worth the gamble.

Again, terrible 2's ( choices of candidates) both sucked!

Trump is a business man with a desire to "win" at any cost. His celebrity status is a self serving machine he created to benefit himself/bus financially. Not a bad business practice if that's how you roll.

Time will tell if those values and practices apply to running a country. But we might not know until its to late. With pretty much all media being shunned......who will be there to watch or report anything honestly good or bad? Those checks and balances are there for a reason. 

I guess if he doesn't like what is said about him or has to be accountable for what he is doing, he will just annihilate them. Banish those that disagree.  Threaten to "loosen" liable laws so he can sue. 

Again, scares the sh*t out of me.
