i am in need of some glass and some odds and sods for my early 80's 580k hoe. if you know of a salvage yard in your area or of a unit that is being parted it would help, thanks.

the pic's are pretty self explanatory and yea i know it was dumb.

Dang Rick, that's not good. No injuries I hope.
I got some used parts for mine from Fawcett Tractor Supply in St. Marys Phone # 1 800 372 7149. Good to deal with and shipped out right away.

Glenn

it was a stupid thing to be doing, obviously. i picked away at a couple of dead 6-7" limbs and thought 1 more about 10" but when i heard the snap i knew it was way more than the 1 i was picking on. luckily it slid down the boom into the cab and not direct on top, i think. they have a r.o.p. cab but the damage would of been a lot more $$$. the only injury was my ego for being so stupid and lazy for not roping it off and pulling from a distance.
i really don't want to take that 1 down as it is a beautiful tree in the fall when it goes a bright red but it 1/2 hangs over an old drive shed that is in fairly good shape and well worth a tune up. it's 2 trees that grew together for maybe 10 feet up and splits. the front one over the shed and the back one over back yard. has to be 15 to 20 ft around at the base of the trunk but the back part is pooched with coons in it and it will all have to come down now, to bad. i got a couple of buds in the logging business and i will get 1 to finish the job, safely, lol. too bad i don't burn wood for heat.

i did some snooping and it looks like fawcett is the go to place alright. its some glass pc's and some straightening for fit and a couple of plastic pc's. i thought of you chuck when i seen st. mary's but the brother in-law from the west side of london will be down for the hunt in a couple of weeks and it looks like he will be bringing more than just his gun with him. lol just thought maybe someone might know if there was a place closer or 1 that is being parted nearby.

i'd be lying if i didn't say i sh!t my pants when i heard the really-really big snap. lol we have all heard the term, "tuck and roll with it", well i tucked but had no where to roll. the luck of the irish, again.

Rick:

If your Brother-in-law is going to be that close to me and has room,  he could grab those wheels and tires if your still wanting them..I say tires because they have tires on them. They are not road tires but they are all holding air,  so they will let you roll a car around.. I have just not had the time to wash them , but if your not going to be using them for a bit it probably does not matter.. Cleaning them up is what has slowed me me from digging them out of the barn.. If your good with that you can grab them.  If it does not work, I can store them for a couple years yet.. I am going to try to hang out in this place for a couple years before I need to access the cash from this place .. And I need the time to redo this little 1950 Ford truck my Son just acquired .. It should keep me busy for the winter for sure at least.

there won't be any glass coming from fawcetts, sh!t. they don't have any used glass for a 580k but their price on new seems reasonable so far. there is a place quebec that might have it.
