does anyone have an opinion as to whether or not use the supplied silicone grease between the module and distributor base? Does this cause a heat sinc problem? This is on my 70 Chevelle 396

Always use the dielectric grease supplied. If not the it can lead to overheating of the module and premature failure. It helps transfer the heat from the module to the distributor base.

That stuff is actually a "heat sink compound" (not dielectric grease).

 

YES ...... use it  biggrin

 Right you are Dan. I own 2 Computer Companies and it's what we use between the Heat Sink and CPU.

Without it, you can fry a $1000 Processor in less than 10 seconds. OK, I lied. 5 minutes 'ish with these new weapons.
