Went on Saturday-maybe because of the hot weather people stayed away didn't seem like alot of cars compared to last year-lot of open space-still a great show.Lots of shade and nice breeze off the lake.
Keep on cruising!

I didn't go either day but have spoken to a few who did and they all stated that attendance was down. It seems that along with AutoFest, the Dream Cruise (Detroit), Mopar Fest, and Jalopy Jam Up were also all on this same weekend. I personally know of regular AutoFest attendees that went to those events instead.
My guess is that it's just a case of unfortunate planning that may not have been avoidable.
Maybe it was because the bylaw officers had been handing out tickets last year at a private event! By private I mean everyone had to buy tickets to get in, so why should they have access to the site at all to hand out tickets! it should have been up to the event organizers to police them. Next thing you'll see is the MOE and OPP inspectors waiting for you to leave. Perhaps they're putting enthusiasts off from attending this type of event?

Supposedly the MOE did start to do roadside inspections in Oshawa during Autofest two or three years ago, some show goers complained to the people running the show, the people running the show complained to the Mayor and the Mayor complained to the MOE so the MOE left. Well, at least that's the rumour I heard.
When I want to catch fish, I take my boat to the lake. When the MOE wants to boost revenue by ticketing old cars, a car show/cruise is a GREAT place to target (unfortunately).
